Where are you putting the letter before the possessive s9x?

Rightly or wrongly, I've left it in its original position in the cell indicated by the 7th of the PATMs

Hm..... now that I've understood the Title, from the hint on the other thread, I'm leaning towards the final letter going into the barred cell.

I, for one, think we should eliminate the ANSWERS thread entirely. Why should there be a thread where the answers to the Listener exist? The answers are posted by the Times eventually. Up until recently this site was just a place to go to ask for and receive nudges. At least one poster was banned for blurting out answers that were not requested.

Given the name of the thread, it's perfectly reasonable for plouty or anyone else to think that they can just ask for an answer or give the answer when all that was requested was a nudge. It's reasonable, but I don't think that's what the community as a whole wants to see. As long as there's an ANSWERS thread there is going to be unpleasantness between those who do not want to see answers revealed and those who reasonably expect they can come here to get or give answers.

In addition, in spite of the preamble at the start of the thread, it's clear that people are giving away a lot of the theme here. The only answers that are supposed to be discussed here are answers to clues. All this talk of TTC (and an additional TTC!) and what to do with the R and what goes in the extra cell has nothing to do with CLUE answers.

At some point those of us who come here mainly to be helpful but object to too much info being revealed are just going to abandon the site. Then those who need a nudge won't have anyone to get help from.

Buzzb, I agree with most of what you say regarding the thematic stuff. After the reaction to my general reminder about the clues (as mentioned in the opening post), I would have been very reluctant to post any sort of general reminder about keeping the thematic stuff in the other threads - again as mentioned in the opening post!

Guilty as charged, for which I unreservedly apologise. I'm usually one of the first to complain about too much revelation but got sucked into it in my efforts to stumble through the endgame. I'll be far more careful in future.

At the risk of incurring further wrath, I have one final query regarding the endgame.

Consider wrath fully incurred.

Surely you must realize you are giving away huge aspects of the endgame:

Not just that there is an area but which rows are involved
Moving contents of cells
The length of the answer to the question

This thread is meant solely for answers to clues. All discussions are to take place in the other two threads as per the preambles of those threads.

Any further posts dealing with the theme, end game etc will be be removed.
