Hello, Elle!
Your husband's physio seems to be on the ball.
Sounds encouraging?
She possibly covers several hospitals in that particular NHS area?
I think they do that up here.
I have not seen any tennis.
I read that Novak was upset to go out.
I had a look through the red buttons and was struck by the lack of crowds for the events.
Brazil does not seem to be very interested?
I could not make head or tail of judo at all!
Fine evening here!

Good day, Pigale!
I read about that poor gymnast's leg.
What a horror!
I can look at cuts and gashes OK, but not a broken bone.
I must be squeamish!
Still quite breezy at the loch!

Good evening, Rusty!
I didn't see Novak's tennis match - I just read about it.
I have no coverage other than on BBC......I don't know how my keying in the numbers of the Red Buttons managed to work for Wimbledon, but it certainly isn't working for the Olympics!
I have reinstalled everything several times etc, etc, but all to no avail.
My daughter played around with the box, too, for about an hour, trying this and that, but couldn't achieve any more than I did.
I think it wants "mending with a new one" as the saying goes, but it will have to wait its turn!
But Good News! I received a phone call from Currys.......the new fridge and freezer will be arriving on Wednesday!
We have a three hour time slot from 11am.
Judo? Our son used to do that.
He managed to break first a thumb, and then his big toe!

Hello, Pigale!
I think I read somewhere that this wasn't the first time the French gymnast hurt himself in a competition?
And this nasty fall came shortly after German gymnast had hurt his knee, too.

You win at
Judo by scoring 10. This can be done by throwing yr opponent cleanly onto his or her back, by getting them to submit or by holding their shoulders on the ground for 25 seconds. I may not have the last bit exactly right. This is ippon, ten. You can score partial marks for other throws etc and will need to attack and keep attacking if you want to be judged the winner if you have not scored ippon.
The ref tells the opponents to bow, take hold and then to fight. He will also tell them to break if nothing much is happening

Good evening, Elle!
You should phone Curry's back and ask then to bring a new Freeview box and zapper with them when they bring your freezing machines!
And there are hundreds on eBay!
I watched a bit of the canoeing.
I do not really understand it (like the judo!), but it is very energetic.
If you have BBC1, 2, and 4, that is all you need really.

Hi, Rusty!
I have just been talking to both daughters - almost literally, one after the other!
The younger one rang to ask how her dad got on this morning at the Respiratory Clinic.
I think I was able to reassure her that the physio was doing all she could to offer constructive help.
The other daughter was ringing to move the goal posts.......
She is now coming to stay with us on Wednesday of this week, just she and the pup, whilst the boys are staying for three days with their other grandparents.
Then the boys will come, as already planned, to stay with us all of next week.
So......busy, busy!
Still, we shall enjoy it! (and I can sleep for a week afterwards!)
No, seriously.......we are looking forward to having them all!
Fingers crossed that our dog and cat and the pup get on all right !
I haven't had the TV on at all yet today - no Sport and no Eggheads!
There hasn't been time!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, you shall be busy!
I have not bothered with the sport much today.
I saw a clip earlier, where CJ de Mooi was voted off The Weakest Link and his response to that.
Not a pleasant man, in my humble opinion!
Came to my mind when you mentioned Eggheads.
Did they sack him?
I ran into La Bamba and her mother when I was out earlier.
Told her I was still waiting on my holiday postcard from her.
Has sending postcards died out, these days?

Good morning, Rusty!
A sunny day here - a little cooler than of late but all the better or that, in my book!
CJ? I don't know....now that you mention it, I don't think that I have seen him on Eggheads for quite a while...although his face still comes on the screen in the introduction.
It is difficult to tell as a lot of repeats are shown.....and in any case none of the programmes seem to respond to the current date.
I think the show must be recorded in blocks.
Strangely, although I have watched Eggheads for years, I have never yet seen a "repeat" previously!
So maybe CJ has been axed? - I know he came in for some unwelcome publicity a while back.
And Jeremy Vine seems to rule supreme now.....no longer do we ever see Dermot Murnaghan on the programme.
I liked Dermot.
What do you have planned for today? any Sport to watch?
Off for my walk now........

CJ left because he wanted to pursue his acting career or that's what they said. He did return but they are showing repeats now.
I hope I enlightened you a little about judo, rusty. I should addthe points less than 10 add up but I think you get extra for attacking lots.

Good morning, Rosalind,
Thanks for the info regarding judo and apologies for not acknowledging same.
I find it difficult to tell a winning move or who is winning.
A sport too far for me, I think.
There are quite a few stories on internet regarding CJ.
So, you takes your pick!

Good morning, Elle!
It is a bit overcast here.
I liked Dermot too. The programmed flowed better with him.
More so, I think, than with Jeremy Vine.
Dermot is a Sky News presenter nowadays, and is a very keen cyclist.
I think you are correct about Eggheads.
They record several shows in one day.
There was a time when I never missed a show, but not lately.
I liked Daphne best, but she has gone now.
I did not take to CJ, at all!
I am not sure if there is any sport for me today.
I watched quite a bit of canoeing yesterday.
Should be cycling for me, tomorrow!
So, heading out for a dander, now.
