Good morning, Rusty!
Did you have a pleasant walk en route for your paper?
A lovely day here, tho' a bit too hot , too early!
22C at 8am when we went out with the dog.
I saw the GB team come into the stadium last night, with Andy proudly carrying the flag!
Then I went to bed.
We have a quiet day at home, but I don't know that I will watch the Games.... there are some tennis updates later tonight of first round matches, I shall try to catch those.
Tomorrow is a family day!

Hello, Elle,
Nice and cool here!
No winds so far.
Did Andy manage fine with the flag?
I saw he nearly had Princess Anne's eye out with it the other day.
He'll be destined for the Tower!
I have been reading about a young American gymnast, Simone Something, who apparently is incredible.
I shall try and watch her on some Button or other.
Cycling for me, today.
I think it is a fairly open race.
I am not getting a picture from the loch?

Good Morning !

Nice and warm here but with a slight northerly wind.

Can't get a picture from the loch either - in fact I could not get one last night.

Hi, Rusty!
It is good that you didn't get the heavy winds that were forecast!
I wish that we could have a fresh breeze...this is far too hot and humid for me.
Andy was great! I was very proud of him.
He carried the flag with pride and was even smiling!
I think you might mean Simone Biles? She is expected to win several Gold medals.
What is the situation with Lizzie then? Does she go ahead and take part in the Road Race?
I wondered if there might be a last minute intervention from "on high" (not God, just Games official!)
No, the cameras seem to be down at the loch; I'm not getting anything either.

Hello, Elle!
Update on winds!
Tonight and tomorrow they are due!
It is very pleasant here.
Andy can smile? Gee whizz!
He was very chuffed to be asked to carry the flag.
Yes, Simone Biles!
Everyone bar me seems to know about her!
I have heard no more about Lizzie.
I think she is riding.
She is a huge disappointment.
As we have found out, these rules the various bodies have, turn out to be only suggestions.
We are used to that up here with our football authorities.
No sporting values at all at Hampden Park.
When is Andy's first match?
Is he doing doubles, too?
The Red Buttons will be getting worn out!

Hi, Rusty!
I haven't managed find out what is happening where.......there is tennis today but how to watch it?
I have checked the Red Buttons but nothing showing on any as yet.
I have found the tennis schedule on the computer, but so far there is no mention of how to view any of the matches.
They do not appear to start till 2.45, so I have two hours to discover how to achieve this!
Maybe when I switch on the TV later, nearer the time, a match might be shown on the Red Button?
It all looks a bit hit and miss though.
Novak Djokovic is playing del Potro first up - I should like to see that.
The Athletics doesn't seem to start till Friday.
I have a detailed schedule for that with events and times - but no indication of where to view it?!
Maybe all will become clear as events unfold.......
What time is your Road Race?

Hello, Elle!
Cycling is on now.
I see tennis on BBC Olympic 6, Red Button.
Channel 485 on Sky.
3.15.
I have Dublin v Donegal to dip in and out of, too!
Athletics is usually the second week.
Nikki Harris has just posted that she is raring to go tomorrow to help Lizzie. Nikki rides with Lizzie in the same trade team, so will know her well.

Hi, Rusty!
I saw some of the cycling, now sculling is on......all on BBC1.
"Not a sausage" at present on a single one of the BBC Red Button numbers that Malone gave me.....
Dublin v Donegal at what? Football?
You are having a good day!
Yes, I have the entire Athletics schedule printed out ready for next week......though how much will be available for me to watch, I don't know.......
I think Freeview and Red Buttons and I might come to theoretic blows.....!
Nikki Harris doesn't sound as though she is "cross" with Lizzie....maybe she believes her "explanations"?
I am frustrated with the television.......I am away to wash my hair......!
