I must be very dense but am still struggling with 11 down. Is the second letter 'I' - this would give a radical upheaval but can't see the poll (cut?lop?). Apologies fro being a pain on this one.

Jono, the incorrect letters are the last thing to be changed.
14 is a straight 'regular letters' job. The correct answer relates to set theory according to Chambers.
Struggling to temember how I parsed 3d! I think I had eh? for what, r for river etc. 4 is 'heads of' what follows.

Williamseal. The word is not (common for close cut) iyswim.

Now I remember, 3d is a very granular construction. Name is the usual letter, river ditto, eh as I said for what, the 'heart' of Switzerland is a letter and the whole thing is, I think an &lit as the correct answer rises in.....

Still going - am nothing if not persistent! Can I just check, please?
Is the third line a three word phrase (4,5,4) which suggests you look at a selection? If so I'll battle on. It's absolutely belting down here on the Norfolk sandbank so little incentive to go outside.

yes. the last word suggests 2 of something, but neither words nor letters make sense to me.
