Just one last query, not being computer or maths savvy. Do we use 1 or 0 in the finale?

If you follow the instructions in row three and subsequent instructions generated, this should become clear

Thanks for your reply ixion, although it didn’t help, until I double checked my letters. I realised I had missed one out, 13. Before, I had non, which was confusing me. Once I put the i in it made sense. Had to Google the answer though.

I’m a little stuck, hints for 1d, 11 and 21 might get me going again. Thanks in advance!

Way behind as usual. I've managed to complete most of the grid thanks to all the hints above, with the exception of 11 down. I know that there has been some help offered but I am still baffled. This would aid me on the third row. Is this answer three separate words?

Looking at the above is the theme something to do with science/chemistry? Not my favourite topic.

Since all the contributors seemed to enjoy it I won't give up quite yet but there is little optimism in the this sandbank.

We are well into the week if anyone could help me a little.

(And this may be a dumb question, but when the instruction says ‘must initially be entered’, does that mean the incorrect answers should be reversed out before completing the grid?)
