No problem,

The extra words are treated in the same manner as the ones in the grid you referred to earlier, in as much as the main theme words all have a containment word - so the RU is only part of another word that goes around another word.

Of course - I should have seen it.

Still, as Mrs Seal just said: your friends on that forum are very kind to you!

Being a seal, William, you must have loved the title of this one!

Thanks Brendan

However this puzzle's setter may be threatening - see below
(they are not very good at spelling in Norfolk)

Hi Williamseal,

They really do look menacing. I remember when I went with some friends to Cornwall and we hired a guy to take us shark fishing for the day. Nothing happened for hours and, just as we were about to mutiny, lo and behold a shark appeared - you never saw a group of guys run away from the edge of the boat so fast!

Speaking of spelling in Norfolk, I used to go out with a girl in Setchey which she insisted is pronounced Setch?

I've completed the puzzle and the 'artwork' (quotation marks signifying self-knowledge) but a couple of things seem still to be up in the air:

On the Other Website, one of the comments is: "Perhaps you are missing the final denouement as alluded to by the title". I thought the title was simply a description of what the thematic items do. Have I missed something?

In the other strand on this site there are references to the thematic items (which ones, message or grid?) being in 'the right order', said to be a 'neet' touch.

Just to wrap things up, can anyone clarify please?

Hi IonaCarr,

Have you highlighted the 52 cells? If you look at those rows that contain the themed creature, you'll notice they all have another word going round them - these "containment" words, as unlikely as it seems, all share a common definition.

This alludes to the title "Flappy" as in 'nervous' as well as the movement of wings. If one is nervous ones is said to have ????????? in one's ?????????

Apologies if you've already got this.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the “Other Website” that you refer to?

Thanks Brendan for the explanation that the title has two meanings. Didn't see it at all, smart boy wanted.

But, yes, I have the theme and the rationale for the containers, all eight of which are in Bradford. My second query related to what was posted by Zabadak @39 in the parallel thread: "Has anyone else noted that the four representations are themselves in strict order?" Someone else had. I haven't. Apparently it's 'neet'.
