15a Insect from the French loaf (5,2 words) ......i have ?EDI?
misprint possibly inFect or inJect??
39d Turn up with the nosh, a carrot perhaps (4) ......i have ?OOL

Thanks sudokulover and pkd. LXX is usual for seventy but medievally, there it is in Chambers: S = 7 or 70. Not sure how they decided which - could lead to confusion when placing orders (garden gnomes?).
I thought I only had one replacement to do so need to recount.

15a P-tent is the misprint. Wordplay is a word with Roman for 100 removed.
15a Misprint is inse-t not in-ect. The French (masculine) and a type of loaf.
39d There is a hint elsewhere for this. The sort of vegetable a carrot is? The L is a replacement. Misprint is in word nosh.
