Hello, Elle,
I do, indeed, mean Denise!
Who is Diane, I wonder?
See these senior moments!
Yes, she is a pundit with Colin Jackson and Michael Johnston, usually. A good crew!
She co-hosted this prog with Dominic Littlewood and in the wee bit I saw, was very good.
Today it is a short time trial in le Tour.
I have not looked at the route but Froome should put more time into his GC rivals.
I will watch the golf, too.
It is the British Seniors Championship.
Played at Carnoustie which is just a few miles along the river from me. A tough course!
BT Broadband had more problems today.
Some connecting station in London on the blink.
Seems OK now.

Hello there !

Cooler here too, and no rain/thunderstorm either; only 26C, due to rise to 28C - but it is still a humid heat, so not so pleasant.

The route for the time trial should be quite scenic, with the Mont Blanc for background. I shall have a look to see if I recognise anything of Sallanches town. Last time I went to the local market, there was so much snow that I had to buy a pair of genuine snow boots - never worn them since !

I seem to have problems with Broadband too - connection a bit iffy and very slow; Wonder if heat has anything to do with it.

Good afternoon, Pigale!
Looking forward to the time trial.
In the UK there are problems again today with BT the internet provider.
Something wrong at one of their places in Docklands, London.
They say they have engineers on site trying to fix it.
I do not know if that would affect you though, Pigale?
I have had problems all day with it.
Hang on to your snow boots.
You never know when you may need them!

Good arvo Rusty !

UK broadband problem could indeed affect me since my computer is 'twinned' with that of my Cumbria friends - my PC used to be his and therefore the whole set up has UK influence - if you know what I mean, I am not quite sure I do ......!

Hi Rusty,

French TV has just shown the Plateau D'assy's church (very modern) This is the village where I stayed, about 500metres higher than Sallanches. Memories !!!

Hello, Pigale,
I am pretty hopeless regarding broadbands etc.
User friendly, they are not.
BT say the problem has been fixed.
They said that yesterday, too!
Great crowds out for le Tour!
And a very nice part of the world.
And the weather looks great, too.
Tom Dumoulin is flying!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
We are finally home again......
The cat is fine, pleased to see us as always.
And the fish, too, have survived my ministrations!
Even the plants are flourishing!
Are you having a good day?
How are the golf and the cycling progressing?
If Carnoustie is so close to you, do you ever go along there to watch the golf in person?
I should think that would be interesting.
Now for the Athletics news......
I see that the Court of Arbitration for Sport has ruled that the ban on Russian track and field Athletes can stand!
That is very good news!
But a few individuals could still compete as "neutrals"
I guess it remains to be seen to how many said "individuals" that rule will stretch .
I think the jury ( Cas) is still out on whether to ban competitors for other disciplines?

Good afternoon, Elle!
As long as the cat is happy that is the main thing!
I have not been to Carnoustie in years.
Their are many excellent golf courses in this area.
Yes, good news about the Russians.
But is it over?
I watched more of the golf than cycling today.
Tomorrow will be the other way round.
They are going to Mont Blanc.
I think Usain Bolt is running at London tomorrow.
How's you and the Hill's Hoist getting on?

Hey, Rusty!
Well, it sounds as though it is finally decided that the ban will hold against the Athletes, at least.
As for the rest, we shall have to wait and see.....
I may try to watch some of the cycling tomorrow if they are going to Mount Blanc - I should love to see the scenery there.
Usain Bolt must be taking part in the Muller (cannot do the umlaut over the "u"!) Anniversary Games at the Olympic Stadium?
These are over three days.
You are fortunate if you will be able to watch these?
The only part being shown on BBC is the concluding day on Saturday, but we do get four hours viewing!
This is also serving as the Tenth Diamond League meeting.
( Hill's Hoist and I are firm friends!)

Elle, if you do have some time, you really should look in to the Tour to-morrow and Saturday - both days' race will be around the mount Blanc and the scenery will be worth seeing.
That's if you fancy it of course !
