we loved his morning radio show and his hilarious Janet and John stories. We actually bought a tape of some of them.

Morning everyone,

I do remember Terry Wogan - We too used to have the radio on for his morning show, and I recall seeing him on TV too, though I don't quite remember the shows, apart from his commenting the European Song Contest. 77 is quite young really.

Malone, I have no idea about your clue, but I shall think a bit more !

Hello, Elle,
A great shame about Terry. Think everyone liked him.
Now, would or would not a person from Bow say "heist"?
How would they pronounce it?
The skiing has been abandoned. Bad weather.
Last I looked in, the girls were making snowmen! A proper sport!
It is a fine calm day here after the "weather", long may it last!

Hi, Rusty!
I simply cannot get beyond "iced" (sounds like 'eist?).
I shall reflect on it during the day!
That is a shame about the skiing being cancelled - especially as you are confined to barracks today.
Are you watching the tennis instead?
We are off out soon - should be back about five or six o'clock.
Catch up with you later..... have a good day....hope your cold soon improves!
Raining here!

Elle, I think you might be overthinking the Bow clue. It's just that someone from there would (allegedly) say " 'eist " rather than 'heist'. Like Rusty, I don't think this would be happening!

Elle, stick with " 'eist ".
I was doing "prep" work in two rooms in anticipation of the painter arriving in a few weeks.
Mainly dumping stuff, especially drawing pins!
I am not so fond of tennis, especially the "second serve".
And I watched some tributes to Terry Wogan.
My cold is still here.
And remember, you have Malone's clue to solve!

Well, thanks to 'eist' and Anne Bradsford , I have a word that I think is correct - Not too sure I understand the (h)eist bit though.

It's a poor clue,I think, pigale. Elegist = poet. It's Eist - robbery in Bow (dropping the 'h' from 'heist'), with L for left and eg for say.

E l eg ist.

Thanks Malone,
I had found 'elegist' and could explain the L and eg, but my vocabulary failed me for (h)eist = robbery - did not check Anne Bradsford for that word - my fault.
