Elle, I think I meant I was relieved that it didn't involve any Cockney or East End language/way of speaking. I dislike dropped aitches.

Pigale, the answer is just an area of London, so you might not have heard of it. The play involved is famous and involves Denmark.

Malone, I think these Londonisms, as you call them, would interest
a lot of people and deserve a thread of their own.
I only look at this thread every so often and I don't know how many others look in but not many post.
I did solve your Times clue, (aftera cuppa) but have only ever heard of the place in the news!.
