Good morning, Rusty!
Nice to see you about in action again!
Well, it's not a good one here - it's pouring with rain!!
I hope your problem has resolved itself- time alone will tell..... or possibly Norah if/ when she manages to sort it all out!
There are a lot of people being affected in one way or another.
I don't think it's necessarily length of post , as I couldn't post a two line answer to Ron's query on the Times thread yesterday! (Funnily enough, the ban was only on that one answer! I was allowed to give another answer to a different clue!)
Are you going to be watching the Athletics this morning?
It was a good day yesterday, wasn't it?

Nice to read you Rusty !

Your posts are no longer than some of mine - I can go on a bit if given the opportunity !

What you call a breeze is in fact very strong wind of up to 90km/hour at times - I was used to it when living on Guernsey, but it is more unusual here, right in the middle of France.

I do not know about the Dolly Sisters ? Perhaps someone might enlighten us (or I could google it). The Mr Harry Selfridge I mean is the American man who came to live in London and created the Selfridges store. (Around 1910 I think). It was just before Woolworth was created and was I believe the first store of this kind, where all sorts of goods were on display on several floors. The Galeries Lafayette already existed and Selfridge sent some of his staff to train there. Very intesting.

You see, a fairly lengthy post - we shall see !

Hello, Pigale.
No, the rain hasn't stopped - and it's very much colder!! Eight degrees cooler this morning than the same time yesterday. It makes for a chilly feel!
The World Championships are taking place in Beijing! and I have no idea at all of the time difference?
I've heard of that programme you mentioned about Selfridges, but haven't seen any of it.
However , strangely enough, I went to an exhibition in the Selfridge store on Oxford Street in London, a while ago - celebrating some anniversary or other of the store and telling of the Founders. You would have found it interesting!

Hi again,

Have just googled the Dolly Sisters and yes, the Mr Harry Selfridge I am interested in is the man who got involved with the Sisters - only his involvement with one of them in particular does not happen until 1920/21, and I have only reach the breaking of WW1.

I believe the series which relates this part is in the third series and am not sure it is out on DVD yet - I shall have to find out.

Hello, Elle and Pigale!
Beautiful day here!
Elle, I have things to do today but will catch up on the athletics as soon as! My joiner has just left. Just here with a quote for my new door. Very pleased!
Pigale, that sounds like the Selfridge I thought.
He was involved with the two Dolly Sisters.
He died in poverty, apparently. Squandered his money.
Is there still a Selfridge store, I wonder.
Elle, you will know? You are out and about quite a bit!

Pigale, sorry, I have told you how Harry ended his days!
Very thoughtless of me!

Doglet, no problem then!
We won't need to bother Norah after all.
I'll just email you direct.
Hope you have the new system up and running soon!

No Rusty, not at all - I just read that he did get involved with the sisters but stop my reading there and then - so nothing is spoiled!
