Well, Rusty that was some first day !( should I be calling it 'first day'? I haven't sussed out the time difference? I gather that we will be watching during our daytime what was first taking place during our previous night)
Yes, Mo looks good! Unfortunately I missed some of the race due to elder daughter phoning me for a chat!!!
I gather thought that the Kenyans ran pretty much as a team? maybe I will get to see more of it in the later highlights.
My plan had been to take the dog out now that today's session is over, but it's far too hot - certainly as yet. Maybe later this evening if it cools down... for now, she can go in the garden and lie under a tree...! or maybe I can persuaded to play ball...!
Have you got cycling on as well?

Good idea, Elle!
Go and lie under a tree. It'll be cooler.
It seems very warm around London.
A lot cooler here.
Cycling starts at 5.30.
I thought Mo had amazing teeth?
Not much work there for a dentist!

Temperature here supposedly 28C this afternoon, Rusty! it certainly feels like it!
Right...rant coming up.....
I was so pleased earlier when Mo won Gold in the 10,000 m! and was looking forward to his racing again in the 5,000m.
But I've just come across a newspaper excerpt on line, from last month.....
I was shocked and disappointed to read just now that Mo Farah refused to shake Andy Vernon's hand when offered congratulations at a recent Diamond League event, when Mo won the 5,000m race Apparently Mo uttered a "foul- mouthed outburst".
Seemingly there has been bad blood between the two after a bad -tempered Twitter exchange (again, if the paper excerpt I read is correct, Mo's fault for bad-mouthing Andy Vernon.
Did you know anything about this? I thought Mo to be a 'nice guy' and now feel disillusioned if this be true. Most unsportsman -like behaviour if so!

Elle, sorry, it is your dog lying under the tree, not you.
I did not know about Andy Vernon, no.
There must be a background to it.
What I noticed today, however, is there is no eye contact between Jess and Katarina. They were interviewed together with a large gap between them.
Katarina did not look at Jess once. Odd?
Hard to imagine anyone not liking Jess?
And Paula Radcliffe has a yellowish tinge?
What is up with her?
My crossword is done early today!

Rusty, in the event , neither dog nor I laid beneath the tree!
It was far too hot outside, we were all driven indoors again, where we had the fans on in the lounge.
I don't recall seeing Jess and Katarina being interviewed together?(only separately?) but they did hug each other after they came 1st and 2nd in the 200 m!
It was disappointing that Steve Lewis didn't make the pole vault final.
That looked a nasty fall that Laura Weightman had after she crossed the finishing line in the 1500 m; she had a head wound but is said to be ok for the semi- final. Laura Muir is also through.
I'm looking forward to Day Two!
How is your cycling going?

Elle, they were together but a yard and a half apart when I saw them pointedly not looking at each other.
I watched ten minutes of cycling then gave up.
The course is atrocious and spectators few and far between. I think it is time la Vuelta was dumped.
Spain cannot afford it, anymore.
I think the Tour of California should be given Grand Tour status instead. California has it all!
Good roads, mountains, and enthusiastic spectators.
There is a Croydon in Cambridgeshire, too.

Hi, Rusty!
A 'Croydon' in Cambridgeshire? I didn't know that? how did you come across it?
I spoke to my grandson this afternoon and he was telling me all about his PGL course. He had a wonderful time!
Only another two weeks holiday left, then back to school!
The summer will soon effectively be over and Autumn on its way.....I don't know where the time goes......it's positively galloping by!
Did you hear about the DVLA losing MOT test results in "The Cloud"?! It was on the radio that they couldn't "find" a whole load of MOTs that were stored in The Cloud, and so drivers were unable to be insured!

Elle, we have a Moscow and a California in Scotland!
So, two Croydons are not unusual!
Our schools went back last Tuesday.
The PGL courses sound great. I had a wee look at them when you told me. It does not seem long since there was a "grand stretch" in the evenings, and now it is "early dark".
No, not heard about the DVLA Cloud mishap.
My photos and address book are still up there.
I have confidence in Mr Google's Cloud!
Paper MOT certificates are still issued.
" Heart in mouth" is a very vague explanation.
Something to do with throat tightening.

I looked up California and Moscow, Rusty, and found that California is a former pit village in Falkirk.
I know Falkirk! It is where the Kelpies are to be found!
It gets dark much earlier down south than it does for you - so imagine how the nights are beginning to draw in for us. ( Psychologically I am still waiting for summer! I'm certainly not ready for winter yet! I love autumn though - I think it is my favourite season! Beautiful colours everywhere and cooler for walks)
Our weather forecast for tomorrow is poor - bright at first but heavy rain later. Thunderstorms on Monday , and then rain for most of next week. Not a good outlook......
Still very hot here, even though it's going on for 11 o'clock.....

Hello, Elle!
Rain here, now!
I am told that there are kelpies in several lochs here.
Do you think there are kelpies? I remember many years ago when my boys were wee, we saw what looked like a huge plastic bin bag in Loch Ness.
By the time I pulled the car off the road (several seconds) it had gone. We never found out what it was, though I mentioned it to the lads manning the telescopes in the Nessie search team.
They hear these stories regularly!
I still wonder, though.
I like Autumn, too. Not madly keen on Winter though. I hate black ice!
Snow is fine though!
