Good morning, Rusty!
You ask me whether I believe in kelpies? I've been reading up on them....most of the information I've come across is new to me....
I've obviously heard of the Loch Ness monster - who hasn't? but I wasn't aware that kelpies were believed to exist in many other lochs, nor did I know about the various forms in which they are depicted, or about the 'history' behind it all.
I know there have been a many 'sightings' of "Nessie" over the years, many of which have proved to be fake. But there are some explained phenomena , are there not? and maybe there is something behind all the folklore?
I'm going to do some more reading/ research into it all.........it's interesting......
Lovely day so far, but we are forecast heavy rain later. I'll be watching the Athletics by then though! I wonder how Jess and Katarina will do?
I'm going out with the dog now before it becomes too hot.........

Hello, Elle!
Nice day up here with a good breeze, so I'm "easy like Sunday morning" as the song goes!
Oh, the kelpies are there all right, if you believe.
You must remember that Loch Ness is huge.
My sons and me had out our "sighting", for want of a better word, at the Eastern end of the Loch where the River Ness leaves the Loch on it's journey to the sea.
What we glimpsed was far larger than a seal, then it vanished. No time for a photo. And I am not so sure I would like an explanation after almost forty years.
Let sleeping " beasties" lie!
The tourist industry around the Loch does not help.
There is lots to read about it.
Yes, hope Jess and Kat do well! And everyone else!

Hi, Rusty!
Sorry, I forgot to ask after your ankle? I hope it is becoming less painful and easier to walk on?
It was lovely earlier when we went out walking the dog, but is fast becoming overcast now. Very humid. I think we are heading for some rain.
We've just been to the crematorium with some plants, as it is my mother's birthday today.
Nearly time for the start of the Athletics......fingers crossed for Jess and Kat - hope they get gold and silver!

Hello, Doglet!
I was wondering if you were watching! Very disappointing about KJT being out of the running for the heptathlon. That last decision about whether or not it was a foul looked rather dicey? I would have thought she just merited a white flag? Anyway, all over for her in that event now......
I'm behind times ! I didn't know Andy was going to become a dad!

Hello, Elle!
Ankle is about 90% healed.
It was only a bit of a wrench.
Kat was just SO close to a great jump!
Hard to bear! Looks like Jess is going to have to fall down to lose the gold. Good on her!
I keep thinking I am hearing Morgan Freeman, but it's Michael Johnson!
I did not know you could take plants to a crematorium?
It is slightly cloudier here.
How are the kelpie studies going?
None of your friends and neighbours will have heard of the kelpies!

Hi, Rusty!
Just heard that Laura Weightman has had to withdraw on medical advice from the 1500 m, after yesterday's concussion. Such a shame for her.
It looks on today's semi-final performances as though Gatlin might well beat Bolt in the 100m final? What do you think? Fingers crossed for Bolt!
At the crematorium, we have an engraved marble slab set in the ground, and we can put plants in pots/ tubs on this. Do you not have a similar set up at your crematorium?
I haven't had the chance to further my research into the kelpies, apart from the reading I did early this morning - been too hectic so far today! Maybe later.....
Back to the athletics.....

Elle, isn't Jess a lovely girl!
I am pleased for her!
I hope Bolt wins.
Or, anyone but Gatlin!
And where is Clare Balding?
I rarely visit our crematorium.
Not sure what the story is there.
My family are in cemetery.
Gorgeous weather here.
Be too cold for Pigale though!
I have a Tour to watch soon!

Well, Rusty!
A good afternoon!
I'm delighted for Jess - she really deserved the Gold medal! and her second World title!
And Usain Bolt did it! He beat Gatlin!!! Fantastic race! Third time he's won the World Championships? I'm so pleased for him! It was very exciting! and very deserving!
Pouring with rain here!! a little bit fresher now, though, thank goodness.
What Tour are you going to watch? Is it the Tour of
Spain? I thought you'd give up on that?
