Thank you, Jazzgirl.... I think!
Elle, I have not started yesterday's crossword yet!
Been busy, busy!
Wind from the South today and threatening clouds.

Morning, Rusty!
Ah, but is it 'fame' or 'notoriety'?!
It's a lovely day here - and finally, it is very warm again! The temperature was in the early twenties when I went out this morning!
No need to offer babysitting services! Grandson will be at nursery today, and as son-in-law is a teacher and on school holidays, he is available for taking and picking-up duties!
And tomorrow they can spend some quality time together! Daughter back on Sunday!
No, it was Chris who didn't know that Bing was the "Old Groaner" - he offered Frank Sinatra for the answer! I've probably said this before, but I was brought up on Bing! I still have my Dad's collection of old 78s! A few years ago, we bought a record deck from the Sunday Times on which to play them. Quite a neat little affair!
'Polymath' was a new word for me- I guessed what it might mean but looked it up for confirmation!
I think Dermot and Jeremy take it in turns to present the programme.
What are you up to today?

Hello, Elle,
Should I practise my autograph!
Grandson and Daddy will get on fine, I am sure!
I am amazed Chris did not know the Old Groaner.
Bing loved golf, not certain but he may have died on the course. Elle, I only came across polymath a few weeks ago.
I think I am home for the day. Awaiting time/place for a funeral so I can send a wreath. The lady in the flower shop had another name for it, but I have forgotten. And expecting my joiner to phone with a price for my fine door. And getting a visit from a young one who is keen for me to see her new sandals.
All go up here!

Why only "think" ?
fame is renown, chiefly in a good sense (Mr Chambers confirms)
Not every day one gets a mensh in The Times !

Ah well, Jazzgirl, I have always thought of myself as a modest man with much to be modest about.
The Tour of Spain starts tomorrow but I do not think it is on ITV4, though. Pity!

You are modest rusty, and that is a good attribute.
It seems the Tour of Spain is only on Eurosport .
That is probably just as well for me, as I have so many projects to finish, I would have been distracted for three weeks!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, Bing loved golf!
Remember "Straight Down the Middle"?
You are right, he did die on the golf course - after just completing a game and on the way back to the clubhouse, I believe.
Somewhere I have a book about him - it's many years since I read it........I must dig it out again and have a reread.
There are some quite controversial stories about his life, though, aren't there?
I'm sorry to hear about your friend / relative who has died.
And I hope the price of the new door isn't too prohibitive!
Have you make a decision about the bell / doorknocker?

Well, Jazzgirl, my tuppenceworth is you are far better being involved in your projects than watching television.
Much more satisfactory, and I wish you well with them.
The Tour of Spain ranks behind Le Tour and the Giro.
Rightly so. It's position in the calendar changed a few years ago and now it is too close to the World Championships. Many of the Classics riders bypass it to concentrate on the Worlds. I always look out to see if I can see any of the fighting bulls out on the ranches (ganaderia?). They are scary looking!

Hello, Elle.
I do not know of controversies about Bing.
I know that for many years there was a tournament named after him at Pebble Beach.
Ach, we won't worry about the price of a door!
I may have other work for him, later on.
No, I have not thought about the bell/knocker thing.
I will float the idea to the joiner. He can guide me.
