Hello, Elle!
Yes, I understand now about the dogs.
Rin-Tin-Tin was a real life dog!
He was rescued from a battlefield in WW1 and went on to become a Hollywood star.
Yes, the young ones like the ice-hockey.
It is a fun night out, great atmosphere, and they think it's super.
They are regulars at the rink.
And their team beat Glasgow Clan tonight!

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear, I'm not at my best tonight, am I?
I simply meant the dog was "real", but the person for whom he was named was "fictitious".
Now, I have also noticed that the Nevil Shute book costing six bob, bears my maiden name!
I have been married for 46 years!
The pages are a tad discoloured , but the book is otherwise okay.
I am going to read it again, as I cannot at the moment remember the plot.
It perhaps may come to me, as I read....
Don't forget to put your clocks back tonight.....
We shall gain an hour's sleep!

Hello, Elle!
I think we should give the dogs a rest!
I don't know if I am coming or going with them!
And now you mention bears.
I came across an old book like that recently, "The Cruel Sea", but the charity shop was happy with it.
I remember the ship in it was the "Compass Rose", but that's about it.
My clocks are all back, I did it at tea-time.

Hi, Rusty!
Mmm, you had me wondering about the "bears" for a moment!
I have read "The Cruel Sea" by Nicholas Monsarrat.
I have also seen the film........I think Jack Hawkins was in it?
All this, again, in a dim and distant past!
Right, I shall now go round and alter all the clocks...
The television, computer and central heating fortunately adjust themselves!

Good morning, Elle!
Another lovely morning with a touch of frost!
All my clocks are changed.
The trickiest one is my digital watch.
I can never quite remember how to do it, but I always manage to finagle my way there.
I don't think watches are as popular now as they once were, especially with the young ones.
They all have the time on their 'phones.
I think you are correct with Jack Hawkins.
Anyway...I have tackled Everyman this morning, successfully.
Not a bad puzzle, at all!
Think it is the first Sunday puzzle I have ever done!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a beautiful morning here, too!!
Blue sky and bright sunshine1
A drastic drop in temperature, but who cares about that?
It is dry!
My trickiest clock to "fix" is the digital electric alarm clock.
The Reverse button no longer works, so to put the time back an hour means going forward through a twenty-four hour cycle!
Unless one waits till after midnight, and then unplugs the clock , and takes out the back up battery, then it only needs altering from 12 am!
I think I may buy a new clock before next Winter!
I am glad you enjoyed the Everyman!
And this week's crossword was one of the easier ones...so you may find a greater challenge next week.
As I had time "in hand" with the clock change, I did my puzzle last night, before I went to bed!

Hi, Rusty!
What are you up to?
I have finished both the Everyman (last night) and the Sunday Times Cryptic (this morning)....... nice puzzles, both!
I've written some letters...and read my book....
No family visit today, as the boys are going to a Meccano exhibition.
I am not sure where it is being held.
We still have sunshine, so I think it is time to be more energetic!
I shall take the dog out for another walk!

Good evening, Rusty!
I have been playing chase with my daughter this afternoon.... we kept missing each other's phone calls!
The boys will have been wanting to tell me about the Meccano exhibition!
Hopefully, we shall all catch up tomorrow.
Yes, cold here, too.
Only down to 4C here, though, tonight.
Snow in Donegal?
Winter is really coming!!
I meant to ask you about your friend Lionel...did they make it cycling to Alicante?
I hope they had a large response for their charity?
Fireworks are going off here.......
Early Hallowe-en?

Good evening, Elle!
Forecast is minus 2C for Donegal!
A bit chilly!
Yes, Li and pals made it to Alicante.
Their target was £1000 and they raised around £3200.
I am not sure if Li is back yet.
I'm sure I'll get some stories when I run into him!
I can't be doing with fireworks!
