Easy to tell them apart, rusty. Spanish bluebells have flowers on both sides of the flower spike; English ones only on one side.

Hi, Rusty!
You may well have a mixture of the different bluebells, Rusty.
A lot of woods do.
If you click on the link that I put up , you will be able to read about the differences and see pictures!
I have been waiting in for a pet food delivery, but l fortunately it has just arrived, so , like you, I am popping out for a walk!
The sun is shining!
Does the Nature Trail sport any bluebells?
Back in a bit…..

Hi, Rusty!
I had a nice afternoon walk...
The sun has been shining, and it has become fairly mild.
I remembered to post a birthday card en route, too!
Now...I had it completely wrong when I thought that my grandsons had dressed up for a Superhero Day.....
I asked my daughter when she phoned...... and she tells me that it was for World Book Day!
The children had to dress as one of their favourite characters!
Have your son and his wife reached the island yet?
Is it a "proper" island ...in that they will have to take a car ferry?

Hello, Elle!
Great weather here today!
I walked a fair bit of the Nature Trail.
No squirrels today, that I saw.
Yes, there are bluebells and heathers along the trail.
The actual path is only several feet wide, and there are several wooden bridges crossing the burn.
I was reading earlier that there is an outbreak of squirrel pox in the South of Scotland.
The virus is carried by the grey squirrels.
It is deadly for the reds.
Hope it can be contained there.

Hello, Elle!
Post crossed.
I have not heard from the holiday makers yet!
I'll leave them until later.
No, it is not a proper island, though that is what it's called.
They drive on to it.
My son mentioned Tampa Bay, so it is around there somewhere.
They usually send me photos. It is not very wide.

Good evening, Rusty!
I am glad you enjoyed your walk.
Do you think you will be able to distinguish between the varieties of bluebells now?
As I said, we only have Spanish bluebells in our garden...although purely by chance.
I had wondered whether it were possible to drive straight on to the "island"....
It sounds similar to the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, where we have spent many a holiday.
That is not a "proper" island , either.
One can either cross from Sandbanks to Studland by the "floating bridge" ferry ....or else drive round by land via Wareham.
The latter is quite a long road trip.
For instance , Sandbanks to Swanage by ferry and road is 5 miles. whereas driving "round" on land is nearly 30 miles.
I have just had a haddock fish cake with a lovely creamy sauce, accompanied by chips, for dinner
Very nice!

Hi elle
We once did took that ferry, then walked to Exmouth (not in one day!). I believe that Sandbanks has the coutry's most expensive properties.

Good evening, Elle!
Yes, you drive onto the island.
They have sent me photos.
It looks super!
They have rented a beach house.
It is very modern and has its own dock at the back of the house.
Miss L-B brought our tea.
She brought me a haggis and chips, and she had black pudding and chips and apple juice.
It was very tasty.
Seeing as she's a student she let me pay for it!

Hi, Rusty!
Your son's holiday set up sounds superb!
Their own dock?
Do they also have a boat provided then, for their use?
It sounds fantastic.
I hope they will also have wonderful weather.
It is a long time since we last went to the Isle of Purbeck.....we usually stay just out of Swanage.
Talking about it has made me feel quite nostalgic......
Well done Miss L-B on bringing the tea!
I like haggis.
Speaking of your granddaughter......
Are you going to the Pine Cone tomorrow?

Yes, Chris.
I think that Sandbanks is possibly the most expensive coastal town in the country for buying property.
Very exclusive.
Wonderful sea views!

Hello, Elle!
They did not mention a boat, but I would think so.
They spoke well of the local sea food.
They've sent me several photos.
It looks a fine place.
Be too hot for me, but they love it.
Yes, we are going to Pine Cone tomorrow.
I am looking forward to it.
