Good afternoon, Elle!
Nice weather here.
I am not long home.
I was up in Glenisla visiting a pal of mine.
(He gave me a fresh trout for my tea!)
That's excellent news about your grandson!
I hope the "Just Giving" page is a success.
Are you missing your builders?

Hi, Rusty!
It is a lovely afternoon here....
I hope it has been as nice in Glenisla?
That is a fair drive from you , isn't it?
Trout for tea sounds good!
Yes, I took a look at BB's funding page earlier this afternoon and he is doing well.
It is the Spartan Junior race, on the 4th May, for Macmillan Cancer Support, in which he is taking part.
We are very proud of him!
It is nice to have the house straight again.
Our builders have done a wonderful job!

Hello, Elle!
A fine evening here!
Hope BB does well in his race.
I'm sure he will.
I thought we would have had an egg hatch at the loch by now?
Hope all is well.
There is a programme about the Iolaire on BBC4 later.
Wonder if it is the same one that was on at New Year?
I am recording it, anyway.

Hi, Rusty!
I look in on Lassie and Laddie every day...but there has been little to see of late.
Usually, just Lassie sitting on the eggs.
There is a worry, though, that the first laid egg might not hatch, isn't there,
because there was a period of about an hour and a half, when neither parent was sitting on it to keep it warm?
We shall just have to wait and see.....but I think maybe time is against its happening now?
I had thought that the Rangers might have offered up a comment in their blog?
I checked on the programme about the Iolaire in my TV guide, but it does not say whether or not it is a repeat.
Yes, best record it anyway...just in case it is a new offering.

Hello, Elle!
I think one of the eggs at least is in trouble.
Hope not, but....it seems a bit late.
I suspect the Iolaire programme is a repeat.
The title, "In Sight of Home", seems familiar.
I am recording it, anyway.

Hi, Rusty!
Perhaps there will be an update to the Osprey blog tomorrow,
and we may learn more then.
In the meantime, fingers crossed for the hatching of the youngsters.
Our two pairs of Egyptian geese in the park only managed to raise two goslings. between them.
The surviving two came from the first pair of geese to mate; two survived out of six.
The other family of eight babies all perished due to one predator or another.
Very sad.....but I guess that is nature.
I am tired... I think my reorganisation and furniture shifting has taken its toll......
I seem to have pulled a muscle in my shoulder.
That'll "larn" me not to wait for help!
My husband was out at the bank...and I wanted to have it straight by the time he returned!

Good afternoon, Elle!
Fine day here!
No news from the loch!
The Times has an article today about the nest at Loch Garten.
EJ has not returned from Africa, this year.
The nest is empty, although ospreys have been seen in the vicinity.
Sad, as that was the first occupied nest when the ospreys first returned to Scotland.
And they think Odin may have been killed the year the chicks died.
Such is Nature, as you say.
I was at Pine Cone with La Bamba today.
You should have let the big strong builders shift your furniture for you!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Well, your visit to the Pine Cone with Miss L-B was a much better way of spending the morning, than was our totally unplanned visit to the vet!
I was horrified this morning to find a tick on the side of the dog's face!
Funnily enough, we had talked about ticks and Lyme disease only a short while ago. hadn't we, when you were telling me about your friend.......
I had never actually seen a tick before - despite 25 years of having had dogs!
I was unsure how to remove it, without running the risk of leaving its head behind in the dog (a definite no-no) so decided to go to the vet.
Let us say that the experience was NOT fun!
However, we shall all survive (except hopefully not the tick!) to live another day!
That is sad about both EJ and Odin...... the end of an era.....
Yes, the builders would willingly have moved all my furniture …..
But I wanted to do a thorough clean after their departure, before finally putting things back in place!
My fault....I should have waited for my husband to help me....
I just thought I would give him a nice surprise, and have it all looking shipshape!

I bought a pair of tick removers from either eBay or amazon, elle. They look like they'd work and cost all of about £2.50! I keep them in the car (along with matches) in case anyone needs a tick removing.

Hello, Elle!
Oh dear, a tick!
Not good news at all.
Does the dog get any medical treatment after removal?
You have to make sure you get all the tick away from the bite.
Great pity about EJ.
Maybe a bit late for other ospreys taking over the nest this year, though it has surprised me it has not happened.
Just heard that one my favourite sportsmen, Ruby Walsh, has followed sister, Katie, into retirement.
He had just won the Punchestown Gold Cup for Willie Mullins, then made his announcement.
Ah, well!
