Hi, Rusty!
Sorry, I missed answering your previous query about our being "misinformed".
Yes, it was by the house buyer.
He told us that his plans had been submitted to the Council and he was waiting on a reply giving building permission.
The Water Board are also under the impression that the building extensions are actually going ahead.
Yet the local Council, today, has said that it knows nothing of any such plans.
"Curiouser and curiouser " said Alice.....
Now I always thought that it was Peter who became the central character of J.M Barrie's book...... and his brothers were "The Lost Boys"?
Yes, there is a tube station at Sloane Square!

Hello, Pigale... this is obviously not my day for making myself clear!
It WAS someone well versed in building regulations to whom I spoke...and yes , you are correct..she did not hold out much hope.
But said we should go ahead and do our damnest anyway!
It was the house buyer who (partially) misled us......

yea, partially perhaps, but certainly to see the reactions ;
If it is true that the Council knows nothing of an application being
made as yet, he is putting out feelers to 'test the waters' as to
local/neighbours' reactions - me thinks!

Hello, Elle!
Seems odd?
It is good that the Council is giving you information.
Elle, you could well be right about Peter Pan.
Richard van Emden says Peter Pan was based on Michael and George, though.
George was killed in the War, and Michael drowned in 1921.
I looked up Peter and he died in 1960 under a train at Sloane Square station.
A tragic family. Both parents died young, of cancer.
I have not read the book.
Why were they the "Lost Boys"?

Hi, Rusty!
Goodness, Rusty, now you are asking.....
It is a long time since I read "Peter Pan"!
I think the " lost boys" were those who fell out of their prams (unnoticed by their nannies) and, if not claimed within seven days, were sent to Neverland?
According to Peter Pan, there weren't any "lost girls", because girls were too clever to fall out of their prams!
(Of course we were!)
And now I am away to my bed..... I need to be up early to give the boys their breakfasts before I take the dog to the park.
'Night! Sleep tight and don't let the bugs bite!

Good morning, Elle!

And may I wish you "A Very Happy Birthday!"
Have the family and you anything planned for your special day?

Lovely morning here!
I never knew that about the "lost boys" and "clever girls".
I do know however, that J.M. Barrie was credited with inventing the name "Wendy".
I read that somewhere years ago!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY elle.

I agree with pigale, your neighbour is putting out feelers, also known as fishing! As well, I think he was trying to make you think it was a done deal, so you wouldn't ask questions or try to stop him. I am pretty sure car parking would be an issue, especially with 4 flats.

Good morning, Rusty!
Thank you for the birthday wishes, Rusty!
My eldest grandson gave me a card, chosen by himself, which says that I "sparkle"!!
Yes, we are all going out to the Pizza Express for lunch - a venue chosen by my grandsons.
There will be nine of us, so we have booked a table.
We are meeting at the restaurant at 12.30 pm.
It should be good!
It is a horrible day here...raining quite heavily.
Another poggy dog walk this morning!
How about you?
Any plans for the day?

Wow!
Thank you Pigale, Ros and Chris!
How nice of you all!

Ros, the solicitor has said that car parking would be a civil issue and not a matter for the Council
I shall of course check this out with the Council in due course.
