Hello, Elle!
I was trying to remember the clue.
"Lame" and "game" can mean the same thing, as in limping with a bad leg.
Sorry for confusing you with "halt"!
Is that better?

Hello again, Elle!
Just to convince myself that "game" can mean "lame" (it does), I looked up "game" in Chambers, and discovered that it can mean "a group of swans".
New to me!

Elle, sorry to ruin your romantic convictions - I don't see why
Laddie should remain faithful if Lassie is behaving like a
"courtisane' - unless she was having her own back on Laddie's
behaviour in the first place......? Who knows.....

Hello, Elle and Pigale!
What you are witnessing is Nature in the raw.
It is not a Mills and Boon romance at the loch!

Hi, Rusty!
Not to worry, we sorted it in the end!
"Game" meaning "lame" is new to me, although I know "gammy."
I, also, did not know that "game" referred to a group of swans.
I 'd known "bevy" or "herd" as a general term, and "flight" or "wedge" when in flying.
We have just finished dinner - spag bol - and the boys have just gone to get ready for bed.
I think a game before they finally go to sleep might be in order.....
I forgot to put the recorder on, to see if there is any Athletics!

Do not worry about Pigale and me......we are but talking "tongue in cheek"!

Hello, Elle,
I was beginning to wonder if Pigale and you would be knitting wee bootees for the baby birds!
Or cosy wee matinee jackets!
"Gammy" comes from "game", Elle, says Chambers, but they don't know where "game" comes from.
Any time I looked in on the Games, there was bowls, or netball, or another sport.
Hardly any athletics!
What kind of game will you play at with the family?

Hi, Rusty!
We didn't play a game in the end.....the boys like Monopoly, but it is far too long a game for that time of night!
Tomorrow maybe.....
The boys - and our daughter - are now all in bed.
Our poor daughter has had a fearful headache, but she seems to be improving .... a good night's sleep should help.
Knitting? I don't knit, Rusty!
I once made a sloppy joe.... a good job that it was meant to be " a long, loose-fitting sweater." !
I need to make plans for tomorrow.......I wonder what the boys would like to do?
( Their shopping escapade with their grandfather must have nearly emptied the shop! )
Time for a coffee, I think.

Elle is right! Just having a bit of fun! We were on the same wavelength,
but Rusty, if you think I should knit for the birds, just let me know!
Just need to know how many he and she chicks for the colours!

Seriously, since I am incapable of watching TV and do nothing with
my hands, I used to knit a lot and made jumpers for just about all the family, including newly born babies.
And I also enjoyed making my own clothes, making my own patterns
and following the fashion but adapting it to suit my mood!
Now, I just knit shawls and small throw overs for the bed.

Elle, I hope your daughter is going to get rid of this headache
quick, so as not to spoil her stay with you. Are you expecting
reasonable weather during their stay?
