Elle, spot on!
"Going forward" is being used to mean "in future".
And...it is being said in all seriousness. When I hear it used, usually by a " blue sky thinker" jumping "out of the box", I feel like choking them.
Tomorrow I will be with Miss Around the World for just over an hour, and then I shall "play it by ear", or even "wing it", "at that moment in time"!. These language abusers make me want to run away!!!
My wee bet is on. Done a double. Miss Muguenza and Mr Federer. Both must win for my bet to win.
I had a Dummies book on Walking, would you believe, and one on Laptops! I found them very good indeed!
My granddaughter has not mentioned P in the Dark, but she may go up later. I have no idea how tickets work.
I am wondering if any of it is on television?
On Red Button? The ospreys will have chicks, too.
I shall definitely watch the cycling, going forward, and catch up with my friends going further forward.
And I trust that if I go any further forward, I wont fall off a cliff or anything!

Elle, I forgot to mention, there was a tightrope walker on Le Tour today.
You are in for a treat after Wimbledon, going forward.

Elle, I have discovered "P in the Dark" is on BBC3 this evening.
I do not have BBC3 on my TV menu, so I'll have to footer about with settings etc to get the channel.

Good morning Kenyatta,

I have heard some people saying exactly that about Cricket : five days' competition ending in a draw.

Yetm Cricket lovers could reply that in football, the playing can be running around like children chasing a ball for 90 minutes and also end up in a draw - something that seldom happens in Rugby ! but there again I am biased!

Have you ever had a chance to viit your friends and relatives in the Southern Hemisphere? Must be quite an experience.

Good Morning Rusty,

Hope your weather is as good as mine ....???

Will you have a chance of watching some cycling today?
Have you got some favourites? I am finding it hard to give a prognostic mosdtly because few (if any) of the 'big names' are committing themselves yet.

Morning, Rusty!
A beautiful day here - blue skies, sunshine and an early morning temperature of 19C - looks set to be even hotter later (going forward!)
How is it with you?
Now ...P in the Dark...Yes, it is on BBC from 8pm till midnight. Will it be of any help if I give you the alternative settings that are showing the programme? You may possibly have one of them? they are: FV5; Sky 115; FS 147; HD106; V106/ HD163.
These connotations mean nothing to me but perhaps they do to you? I hope you can find some means of viewing it - you might see one of the girls...or an osprey!
I've been studying the rules of Le Tour - I did print them off so I could read them at leieure (didn't sleep with them under my pillow tho; as I think "absorption" only works if you listen to a recording!!)
I do have a couple (so far) of queries about the winning team.....
So the individual winner must share his 'earnings' with all his team, who have 'helped' him to be in first position - but that team may not also be a winner? This is because their aggregate times were not the lowest? even though their "number one" won?
Okay, think I've got that... but another team may "win" even though they don't have an individual "winner", because their accumulative times do add up to be the shortest of all the competing teams?
How am I doing so far?
Er... a tight-rope walker?!
What time are you going out with Miss ATW?

Hello, Pigale,
Hope you are well!
I shall watch at least the second half of the race.
I think it could be a stage for Dan Martin?
Maybe Degenkolb?
The first week has been good!

Good day, Elle!
Grand day here, too!
No, Elle, it is the Sky settings I have to explore.
My Sky is set to only show "favourite" channels.
BBC3 is not one. It is a personal menu and at least 90% of channels are excluded. They are of no interest to me.
The local press say the biggest cheer at P in the Dark was for the sun breaking through. It is a sea of mud!
No "must" share. It is the tradition only.
At present the yellow jersey, is Froome of Team Sky, but the leaders in the team competition are Team BMC, of America. It is very early days in the Tour, and things will become clearer in the mountains. BMC won't be too interested in the team competition, but in helping Tejay van Garderen to the podium, or the yellow jersey.
You are doing great in grasping it.
You folk down in Kent are not daft!
As the Tour rolls through France, everyone comes out and shows off their village, town, etc to their best.
Yesterday, Le Tour passed through a small town who were very proud of their tightrope walker and he was on display.
Meeting Miss ATW in a few minutes, going forward.
I have already told her to tell her cousins when she sees them, not to be sitting under hawthorn trees.

Morning Elle!

Beautiful sunny and warm day here too; promisses to be rather hot this afternoon.

Re. Le Tour - Rusty is doing a grand job of explaining this to you and he is very clear, but on top of his explanations, you could google 'le tour de France rules and regulations' and you will find a number of sites available, including the one 'for dummies' .

Now they may not be as easy to follow as Rusty's answers to your questions, but you might want to browse through as an additionnal source of info.

Look forward to the mountains Elle, this is where it all happens - and the scenery is often breathtaking!

Morning ChrisE,

Going back to your comment yesterday about England playing Australia - could it be The Ashes ?

If so, I remember being told that it was THE competition to win!
