Elle and Pigale I think we are a bit too late!http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tour-France-Dummies-Phil-Liggett/dp/0764584499
Good news, though, Elle!
Father Flanagan has arrived from Mishawaka!
The book was previously owned by a High School in New Hampshire.
So, well done Amazon and good folks of Mishawaka!

Hi, Rusty!
Roger Federer has just taken the first set......fingers crossed for him!
Did you see Martina Hingis playing Ladies Doubles? They won in two straight sets.
I think she was to play Mixed Doubles afterwards, but haven't heard that score.
That's good news about your book arriving safely - from Mishawaka! A well- travelled book! I'm sure it will make good reading.
Glad to hear that your friends reached Cairnryan safely - is it a long ferry journey? (you know me and Geography!) - they are probably with you by now?
What plans do you have for while they are here?
I hope the girls enjoy P in the Dark!
A pity though that we aren't going to make our fortune from your writing about Le Tour!!!!

Hi, Jazzy!
I wasn't sure which thread to reply on, so doing both! Thanks for your message, it was much appreciated.
You take care now.

Elle
I hope you are enjoying the tennis, as I am now doing.
re my post #1980 I asked Norah if she would remove the other thread. I did not want it to escalate which it may (or may not) have done.
You and others have been so very kind over my recent loss and I really appreciate that. But I now feel that I should not have aired it on a public forum so I am now keeping a low profile for a while to deal with things. I hope that Norah has sent you my message.
Thank you again.

We crossed posts, JG, as we often do! I am sure that everyone will now respect your wishes to grieve in private.
That is quite understandable.
All the very best

Elle, it was great to see someone play tennis with a lovely smile, again. And she and partner won.
My friends are not with me but are here.
They have relatives and cemeteries to visit first and I shall see them tomorrow.
The "boat" takes just over two hours from Belfast.
It was a "good" crossing. Not too rough at sea.
You mentioned geography. It is possible on a very good day to see Scotland from the Irish coast.
Book is fine. And as a bonus, there is a brief review of it on the back cover by a man whose biography I read three years ago. Admiral Chester Nimitz, who commanded the US Pacific Fleet during World War 2, after Pearl Harbour.
He speaks very highly of Father Flanagan.
I think I will have a wee punt on the lady who is playing Serena Panic Room in the final of the tennis. Miss ? ?
Is it Federer who Murray is playing?
It is remarkable what there are "Dummies" books on!
"Lightbulbs for Dummies" would be a best seller.
I am sure I am not the only one who approaches the lightbulb section in a store in trepidation!

Hey Rusty,

I understand you might be busy with your friends right now, but you may get to read this later.

Glad that Cavendish got his victory today - I like him as a person (or rather the person he appears to be) and it just goes to show that he is not 'finished' yet, far from it I think.

Tomorrow's stage could see some climbers showing their nose, though without pushing it quite yet.

When is Europcar really going to start racing ! I was disappointed that Coquard was not amongst the first three.

Enjoy yourself with your friends.

I must remember not to look at this thread until I have watched the highlights! (Not your fault, pigale.)

I've been watching the cricket.
