Hello, Elle!
You seemed to have a fine day!
Glad you all had a good time!
Me too.
Had the young ones here earlier.
We had a good natter and the skiing was on TV in the background.
A win for Lara Gut!
It was minus 13 at Dalwhinnie during the night.
A tad chilly!

Hi, Rusty!
Brrrh! I don't think I shall visit Dalwhinnie........ minus 13 is a bit too cold!
Where is it, by the way?
You know me and Geography!
I'm presuming somewhere north of you?
Sally and Peter are moving up to Aberfeldy this weekend!
They could have picked a better time to move house, couldn't they?!
They will be backwards and forwards for a while, as they have yet to sell their property here.
I forgot to say that the dictionary was a great success!
BB was looking up words straightaway!

Good evening, Rusty!
I hope your day has gone well?
You obviously haven't had chance to come on the forum ......but I shall send this anyway, in case you log on later.
I've been somewhat lazy but the day has passed pleasantly!
I have completed both crosswords - the 15 x 15 and the QC .......
But have one or two doubtful parsings still to sort.......
I doubt you've had time to watch any tennis.......but in case you haven't heard, Novak Djokovic is out of the tournament.
He appears to be still suffering from his elbow injury.
Damp here but very much milder.
Has your snow melted?

Hello, Elle!
I have just logged onto the Forum.
Had a good day and our temperature is rising.
There is a thaw on.
Still snow about though.
The skiers are happy, though!
Yes, I read about Novak.
Are you getting BBC highlights today?

Hi, Rusty!
I am glad that your day went well.
I hope your thaw won't give rise to floods?
This is apparently proving quite a problem in parts of the UK.
Yes, it was a pity about Novak.
Other matches went well though.....Simona Halep, Madison Keys, and Angelique Kerber are all through.
As are Roger and Thomas Berdych.
Yes, I am getting daily Highlights on BBC2, though only for forty-five minutes!
How is the skiing going?

Hello, Elle,
I am talking about the skiers at Glencoe.
There was a 6 mile tailback, abandoned cars holding up the snowploughs, but those who made it to the slopes are having a great time!
There is not enough snow beside me to cause floods, but elsewhere there may be.
I would root for Madison Keys, I think.

Hi, Rusty!
I think either Simona Halep or Caroline Wozniacki stands a good chance of winning?
And I wouldn't rule out Angelique Kerber, as she is playing really good tennis again this year.
EuroSports Player keeps sending me daily emails trying to entice me back!
How did you find the crossword today?
I thought I had completed it, but I find I missed out two that interlocked.
6a: Iberian character, Spaniard's back in hat (5)
??L?E
6d: One following another into accident and emergency (6)
??N?E?
What am I missing?

Hello, Elle!
I would forget EuroPlayer.
Let you down too many times.
6, the hat is a "tile", Elle, with the last letter of Spaniar"d",
giving "tilde" which I have heard of, but adrift on its meaning.
Elle, for goodness sake! "tandem" is in the clue!
No supper for you tonight!

Good morning, Elle!
Just noticed I have missed one of your posts!
Dalwhinnie is a little village just off the A9, between Perth and Inverness.
There is a well known distillery there.
And it is known for being cold, there!
Off out now, things to do.
I've done the puzzle online.
Quite a tester today, I thought!

Good morning, Rusty!
I am just back from the park.
A drizzly and warm (ish) morning.
The dog was disgustingly muddy......
She is (relatively) clean now, after a lot of towelling!
I suspect I may have missed you and you will have already gone out........
Never mind........this will be here for when you get back.
Thank you for your help with those two clues last night.
I am mortified that I missed "tandem", hidden in the clue!
Should I blame my brain or my eyesight?
You have done your puzzle very early - and quickly!
I shall take a look now........while I gulp my coffee........
