Hello, Elle!
Quite a nice day here.
A senior moment for "tandem"?!
Yes, I took on the puzzle early today.
Had one or two things to do, and have a hospital appointment in the afternoon.
With a bit of luck and good timing, I may get a lift home from Miss La Bamba, when she finishes!

Hi, Rusty!
We have had high drama here!
Our ex- next- door- neighbour's daughter had organised for our local "tree man" to come and clear her father's garden.
This is partially being done by burning the rubbish.
She did go round and check with all the neighbours that no one objected to the smoke - all within the local council guidelines.
However......some one called the fire brigade!
Yes, there was/is a lot of smoke.... but a comparatively small fire.
Two fire engines came roaring up - firemen racing up the path.......
"Tree man" scratching his head in perplexity and saying that all is "under control"!
I had to give witness that we had been forewarned about the fire!
The firemen did check everything - and all was fortunately passed as safe and correctly managed.
What a hoo-ha!
Yes, I've done my puzzle , too!
And all parsed today - I thought it a nicer (more do-able) crossword than yesterday?
I hope all goes well at the hospital - is it a check up?

Hello, Elle!
Well, you can't be too careful, Elle.
Did anyone warn the Fire Service there would be a fire?
I am not sure if that would be required or not.
And, things have been known to get out of control.
A good work out for the Fire Brigade, though.
No check up at hospital.
Going for an ultrasound scan.
Hopefully not there very long.
I have had X-rays at another local hospital before, and they were brilliant.
I do not think I was 15 minutes inside the building, in total.
In, gown on, X-rayed, dressed, and out, took less than 15 minutes.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh, I don't know if the Fire brigade was forewarned...... but all was passed as okay anyway......nothing out of line.
Firemen quite satisfied all was carried out responsibly.
And all finished now......waste cut down and erased......embers of fire being hosed down "just in case"...
But fortuitously it is now (also) raining!
I think the length of time you will be at the hospital will depend upon the type of ultrasound scan you are to have - external, internal, endoscopic .........usually these take between 15 to 45 minutes.
If you have to drink a required amount of fluid beforehand, or need to have a dye injected, this can take added time.
I hope all goes well.......
And that you can cadge a lift home afterwards with Miss L-B!

Hello, Elle!
It is a nice day here!
I am having an external scan and the leaflet says "no preparation necessary", so hopefully it wont take long.
Miss L-B has a new phone today and is awaiting her number being transferred to new one, so may not be able to contact her.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, hopefully, if there is no preparation or pre-testing, then the procedure may be over fairly quickly.
Let's hope so anyway.
How will you get to the hospital?
Are you allowed to drive afterwards should you take the car?

Hello, Elle!
Not sure how I will get there.
If my son is home in time, he could give me a lift.
I would not take my car.
Parking and car parks are a nightmare in the afternoon.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, hospital car parks especially are difficult even to find a parking space.
Our "local" hospital - which ironically is miles away - has a Sainsburys next to it.......so we park there!
I hope your son can take you......
And that all goes well.
I am just away out with the dog.......so will catch up later when you get home again?

Hello, Elle!
Got on well at hospital.
I arrived about twenty minutes early and was seen right away.
In the ultrasound room for ten minutes and that was it.
Superb service! I am a big fan of the NHS!
So I got a taxi home.
Great craic with the taxi driver, too!

Hi, Rusty!
I certainly wasn't expecting you to be home so soon!
That was indeed great service!
Hospital appointments here always seem to be running late......although yes, the quality of treatment is always excellent.
How soon will you get the results of the scan?
Do you already have an appointment to see your Consultant?
I might have known you'd have a good chat with the taxi driver!
