Hello, Elle,
Maybe rising 2 is a bit young for football?
Looking forward to my tea tomorrow!
Her flat is finished.
Her Dad did a lot of work on it, and my youngest son did all the plumbing/heating work.
So, it was a family effort and seems to have been a success!

Good morning, Rusty!
A very cold and frosty day here....... 1C!
Great out walking - white and crisp underfoot, with blue sky and sunshine overhead!
I was reluctant to come home!
( But the piping hot coffee is much appreciated!)
Have you been out for your paper?
What is it like up your way?
Have you had more snow?

Good morning, Elle!
We have had a blizzard today, but stopped now.
I was not expecting it!
Mind, at the most, there is two inches of snow lying.
Not good walking weather, but it has certainly slowed down the traffic!

Hello Elle and Rusty!

Had a job to find the post!!!
How are you both? Here, no snow, not very cold, (+7C) but
a lot of wind still - makes it feel colder than it is!
and nasty drizzling which comes at an angle, right in one's face;

Just had a walk around the house, but decided not to venture down
town - I don't need anything, it would just have been nice to go
for a chat.

Decided to have a go at the Monthly Special cryptic, and have
done almost half of it in several sessions, and so far it has taken
me .....................over 7 hours ! who knows, I might finish
it by the end of the month, but quite frankly, I do not know
any of the words, apart from one!

Hi, Rusty!
I think - touch wood! - we have been very lucky here in so far avoiding any snow- or rather any snow that has stuck!
I hope I am not tempting providence by saying this.......!
I think I made the right decision about our not venturing north to attend the funeral next Tuesday, although I cannot help but feel a bit guilty by our absence.
But it would be a long journey and potentially detrimental to my husband's health.
That has to come first.
But today is certainly glorious! Were it not for the extreme cold, one would think it Summer!
Have you done your crossword?

Hello, Pigale!
Yes, I know what you mean about finding the PCT!
I nearly sent out the St Bernard - with brandy barrel around his neck - to find the thread this morning!
Seven pages away!
Your temperature is much higher than is ours..... but we have brilliant sunshine!

Hello, Elle!
You do not want snow!
It is a pest!
You should not travel North unless you have to.
I'm sure folk will understand.
Crossword finished!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, the decision is taken now......
I have to do what I think is right, don't I?
Apart from my cousin himself, I doubt we should know anyone else anyway.
I cannot do the 15 x15!
I am finding it extremely difficult.......so much so, that I am going to put it down and see if I fare any better with the QC!
Either my brain is not functioning.......or the setter and I are poles apart!
Well done on finishing your puzzle!

Hi, Rusty!
Well, I'm glad I 'm not alone in not liking it...but the main difference is that you could do it..........and I can't!!
QC finished though - that was easy enough!

Hi, Rusty!
Gordon Bennett! That crossword was hard!
I have had another go at it since I came in.......
Three I still cannot do......
5a: ??F?O?
5d: ??G?R / ?O?H
20d: R?H?E?S
And one I cannot fully parse.....
14d: Offenbach = composer(def )
off - not keen
NB - note
But how does "each" fit in?
I liked 9a "yolk" and 21a "Pleased as Punch".
"Staines" was a good one for me - I have close friends live there!
Still, at least I have made some progress....!
