There was no requirement to delete the words in the preamble so think it would be marked wrong if they weren’t in the grid.

Thematically they passed away in the second grid and yet the words in the diamond stayed as they were.

Not in the instructions, no, but the Biblical reference makes it very clear that "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away," You and others may interpret it differently, but to me that's a clear instruction to delete the two words. And the fact that they are highlighted in the Solution implies that they are in some way important. Given the ambiguity I think it's only fair that solutions with, and without, the two words should be accepted.

Of course they’re important. The whole point is that when you write out the second grid they disappear. I guess they could have asked for both grids to be submitted but that is probably too much effort for the marker and getting to the diamond proves you’ve worked the second grid out correctly.

Good luck arguing your case but if they start marking things correct that haven’t been asked for I reckon they’re opening up a whole can of worms
