Not a human main character.

Thank you darla and son1ofrover1.

I am now a lot closer to a final understanding. I have the six letter name of the main character. It is also obvious from staring at the grid which general area will contain the character.

I still do not understand exactly how the ellipse is located and how two final grid entries are not real words or phrases.

Any last big hints - or should I give up?

The post - can you spell out the character in six cells that form a ring type shape? If you have the name - start with the first letter and go from there. The unusual letters should help

With the non-entries - are you sure that every single entry in your final grid is a real word?
