Can I have some help with parsing 20ac please? I have an answer but not sure I can justify it so it may be wrong.

First 2 words for the wordplay (ref prison + reversed) all of the rest is the def - misprint in its 2nd word.

Giving up for now.

Corrections from block doing nowt

Identified 1 or 2 thematic words

Can’t parse 4D 11A 17A

Can’t make out message from the misprints

Otherwise it’s going great

Also

Can’t parse 22a

And can’t reconcile 37 clues with 19 and 15 (and 7 going into block)

I'm having trouble identifying the three thematic words, partly because there seem to be so many words that can be linked to the theme. Is the eight letter predecessor of Y (which used the same adjective in the name) one of the three? It surely can't be a coincidence. And if so, are the other two also predecessors. I fear I'm being a bit dim, because many others to have easily identified them.

Sounds like you have the correct long one and as the preamble mentions ''appropriately highlighting'' it, you should find a shorter one that can be treated similarly.
The third one is different.

Ukridge, you are on the right tracks. Another of the three is along those lines (sorry for the pun), but the 3rd is something different which is associated with Y.
