Morning, I've just finished the last few clues this morning but cannot parse 17a for the life of me. Can someone put me out of my misery? I can see the first word gives me the first three letters but am lost with the rest.

Two letter abbrev. then a single middle letter, inside which an anagram (“out”) of a word from the clue.

…”of” is part of the definition of course which means every word is doing something, very tidy clueing.
