Thank you! I need more help...

a. I found 2 of 3 features (up and down) but the third I'm not sure. I have a combination of 3 words perched on an organ that (I guess) makes a sensible shape? Is this the feature (is there a missing fourth word)?

b. after making the changes required, my 25d is no real word that i can discern. I had 4 letter individual performances + 3 letter success (given by entry #1 of the 'noun' of that word), inclusive of a misprint. have I gone wrong?

Not sure I follow you on a, but 25d becomes two words as shown in Chambers.

Help, please, with the parsing for 12a and 14A. For 12a there is a word which fits with the crossing letters, but I cannot see why (apart from the initial letter).

I have filled the remainder of the grid and found the 8, Having left this for several days, I'm having one last push before Saturday.

Thanks.

12, V=vide (Latin for see) inside the sauce

14, survey exposed = lacking outer letters, poor=anagram indicator

Thanks Buddy. I had worked out 14a, but for some reason dismissed it!

Thanks also for 12a; I should have recalled the V for vide.

Welcome, gloucester.

17d parses: 4-letter word for "twirl" cut (ie with its last letter removed); two-letter abbreviation for "leg before"; getting over, meaning the whole thing turned upside down, giving a word for "hiccups".
