22a, def is a nickname for a large US city. I believe 1d was hinted earlier, and 27d, square is the def, square meaning a number.

Thanks @will37. I found the correct one just as you were replying - not the one I referred to in my question.

Hello all! Now that it’s Tuesday, will someone share thoughts on the significance of the title?

You can anagram the full name of the puzzle's honoree to get a 3,7 Latin phrase that (according to Google translate) means "this is optimal". Maybe someone has something better.

I've got a complete puzzle but still am unable to parse 32ac and it's driving me mad! Anyone willing to offer a nudge?

Take a two-word phrase for shave in a particular sense - "scrape" is a near-synonym - and remove the sides (i.e. first and last letters) of "stubble" to give you a word for dress.

Hi bathmatters. As per my earlier post, I just wonder if it's a 3 letter word meaning 'best' and a 2 letter acronym meaning 'online' or 'available'. Put the together? I must admit I can't find anything to justify the acronym although I'm sure that, back in my IT days, we used to use it with a forward slash between the 2 letters.

I'm sure that's it - as you said at #42.
There's plenty of examples online of OL meaning On Line.
And he's 09/09 of course.
