I’m was making slow but steady progress with the grid fill but have now hit a wall. Hints for 2d and 25d would be most helpful.

I agree Buzzb was just stating the obvious and doesn't deserve hassle. The Admin has it right that this site is for those needing help with crossword clues & of course those wishing to offer it. There is no other reason to be here. The crosswordcentre has a forum to tell everybody how easy you found it but you'll have to wait 3 weeks to post.

NS: in 2 down the letter moves from the second word to the last in the clue.

In 25 down the letter moves from the third word to the second.

The answers to both are familiar words but in different contexts.

Givuzaklu - I agree with all you say except the last sentence. Since Crossword Centre moved its message board to Tapatalk some time ago the Listener post-mortems have become a thing of the past. Not much goes on there at all save for the tumbleweeds blowing down the street and the tolling of a distant bell... Shame, as it's a good site which offers a monthly crossword similar to the IQ/EV.

Yikes! I've hit a real road block.
7Dn I had this as moving the appropriate letter from the first word to the third, making it an anagram of the second minus its third letter, giving Judith Durham possibly. However, if I'm right about 1 across, which I have as a word which sounds like another 60s band, and about 3 down, which I have as a word which rhymes with a band featuring Peter Frampton, but starting with S, then my first letter of 7 Down must be M, O or T. And anyway is "FINDER" really a definition of an anagram of the second word without the money? I hope I'm being appropriately convoluted, but fear this may result in readers of this thread being completely unable to work out what I'm on about. I need to know if 7 down could be Bruce Woodley or JD.

Thanks loge, in 2d the second word is example. Do you mean the 3rd word?

turast , 1a only has 8 letters so it doesn’t intersect with 7d
