The in northern dialect is T you then need to anagram another word in the clue and add a two letter synonym for high.

OB old boy is removed from a word and I (independent) is added in its place

Thanks for the help novice and tatters. I was completely wrong about 26 but have it now. Grid completed but will leave endgame until tomorrow.

I have a shape (albeit with clipped points) with a central hole of the same (unclipped) shape.
There are a variety of ways of dividing this shape into n equal smaller shapes.
Assuming I am looking for n x n-letter words from the definitions, what are considered the 'extreme' cells, where I should expect to find the n-letter words? I was hoping that I would be looking for some more one-sided shapes, but it seems not...
