Still struggling to fill grid, would appreciate tips for 1 ( think I know words to remove) and 12. And a direction for 27 would help me.

Hi Lumen,

1 - Homophone of a synonym of "inferno" (though this is the one with accent) then an anagram of "in E flat" - definition is "rock".

12 - 3 letter "devotee" around "god" - definition is "gradual introduction"

27 - I'm not confident I've parsed this correctly.

Sorry Lumen, you'd already got 27 - it goes up.

Taking you literally, lumen, 27 goes NE. I think the parsing is the plural for columns around a Chinese distance.

Thanks again for help yesterday. I've now got the first and second erasures, to leave a large docked triangle, but can't see which central group to take out. Are the three interlocking shapes, presumably triangular, pointy or clipped? And a hint on the names would help this baffled fruit.... Out for a stroll next.

Greengage,

Take out a similar shape right in the centre. Re the names, look at alternate letters around the edge of your triangle, and then Google one or more.

Very glad to get help with 27. Thank you (funnily enough, that was the first one I thought I'd got on Friday evening. Persuaded myself the answer was Dolmens, but that's another story). It means the only clue that I still haven't solved is 32. Would really appreciate a bit of help.
