SS - assuming you’ve followed the instructions correctly, especially the tango one, you’ll have a shape with 120 degree rotational symmetry and a hole in the middle.

If you can think where you’ve seen that shape before, the payoff is worth it.

Thanks HW7 and CD. Pretty sure we have the correct shape, including the 120 degree symmetry, hole and minus the Tango.
As we said, a common shape, hence the comment about the recycling symbol and link with snooker tables! Road signs also spring to mind, especially as carried in car boots for an emergency. Onwards we plod, meanwhile at least the dog had a walk and the F1 to come. Thanks again.

Well, that could mean I've made an error with the redundant words, candledave - and if you can justify all of the words in the clue I've taken them from I'd be very grateful (I'll identify the clue on the other thread).

Sorry for the repetition -

The clue I've taken my 'sub-heading' from is 10ac (3 words) this phrase follows the 1st instruction and precedes the 2nd and 3rd.

drxx - i thought those three words were the end of the description of the first group and followed on from the words in the previous thematic clue which ended with "of"

I've taken the phrase to mean that the next two are smaller than the first - but I suppose they could mean L(eft) + R(ight) taken together with the other direction marker?

If that's the case I think it's a superabundance of information for that particular excision.
