I think I'm done, but without working out the n words of equal length referred to in the preamble. For that reason I wonder if I have shaded the shapes correctly - by my reckoning there are two possible ways. Could someone give me a hint for the words? Are they n letters long?

The three words are indeed n letters long, Ukridge.

Granama, I'm not up on bank logos but the three shapes are joined together to make a different shape which you can deduce from the clue numbers which form the start of a thematic sequence (google just the first four and you should find it). The identity of n should also be a hint to the final shape. Not sure if that helps or not...

Sunday, and I am still woefully lacking in answers in the second column of clues. Perhaps a hint for one of the long ones, 22 or 23, could get me going again. Also, 33 must be a double def. Would “drunk” be another def.?

Thanks Loge, I did the googling of the number sequence reasonably early on. I'll keep shape juggling. It was the rather specific use of interlocked rather than joined that puzzled me. It rather implies overlapped as opposed to joined at the edges.

22 - 4-letter word for chewing tobacco + anagram TIDIVATE

23 - an expression meaning "really" which if anagrammed around US could give A S(pecial) SAUSAGE FILLER

33 is an alternative spelling of RET + A

MPRS, I have a side-dish rather than a drunk for 33. (The soak isn't a drinker!).

Thanks, loge. I must remember to look up EVERY word in Chambers. I didn’t know that word for chew - only in the monetary sense. I’ve even run across the clue answer before. I remember wondering if that’s where JKR got the name of her game.

Re 33, I originally thought of “ret” but couldn’t make it work.

Do you have Collins Bradford’s Crossword Solver’s Dictionary, mathprofrockstar? It’s invaluable, and would have given you many alternative spellings for the soak word, as well as the dish

I’m stuck on the clues in the SW corner to complete the grid. A hint for 31A would be greatly appreciated.
Also I think I have 26 but can’t work out the parsing.
Thanks
