Does the word before not exist now! Why is ahead of used all the time?

Thanks to all, I’ve finished this one.

Why this sudden ban on hints to the theme? If we have solved the clues, or many of them, yet are baffled by the obscure theme, where can we look for hints? This could well be the situation for some members of our ‘crossword help forum’, and I fear that it is not living up to its name.

Of course we don’t want anyone to blurt out the full details of the theme. But our members are very good at giving hints which still leave others the satisfaction of working it out from there.

Talking of blurting, the forum is still being marred by explicit answers to the clues. I reported a blatant example of this a few weeks ago and nothing was done. Of course we can hardly complain if the thread is labelled May contain answers! I suggest that it should say May contain hints, with Malone’s first post specifying that this means hints to answers or to the theme, but not direct answers or direct explanations of the theme.
