I think I have a completed grid apart from the answer to one clue, which has baffled me. And it doesn't help that the answer is entered jumbled. It's the Across clue starting 'Power line..'
I have the jumbled entry starting with an L (that could also be an S). It seems that the entry is a word for contract minus P and/or L, allowing for a surplus word in the clue. Help with this last clue to put me out of my misery would be much appreciated , thanks.

p lease -l = pease

"power line"- single letter "power" + 5 letter "contract" minus single letter "line" - definition is an archaic/"decommissioned" word for "plant".

You're right that it's jumbled and I have it beginning with S.

Theragman.the parsing is P + l removed from contract as you say. There is no surplus word and it is scrambled. Decommissioned means obsolete. Gives a plant

ragman - the unjumbled entry starts with P for power, you then need a five letter word for a type of contract, remove the L and that gives an old word for a familiar vegetable.
