Hi Will, I don't have the 8th across as a candidate. I had the other 3 and now have the 2nd across clue with an extra word further down - as indicated by Loge

If it helps anyone, without giving too much away, the 4 extra words total 17 letters. Also, in response to earlier comments, I like to see the answers printed in two weeks time, otherwise the challenge seems rather pointless - and I do not understand that.

I’m making steady progress but have ran into difficulty with the shape of the grid. Can anyone give me a hint on the positioning of the 2 down entries (both 7 letters) - “Settle rate” and “Most recent”?

Hi numbskul. I have just sorted this I think! I kept trying to start both in the same row so had the, the wrong way round. Settle rate starting in row 3 column 10 seems to be working

The 8th down clue, “Virgin Atlantic” is driving me mad. It looks easy but I can’t find anything that fits. A nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Think star signs NS, with the initial letter of Atlantic inserted,

Numbskull, you can guess initially wouldn't refer to both words... put A in a 5-letter word *representing* virgin.
I managed to complete this (ta-da!) without recognising any of the four extra words
