Morning all. Bit of a mixed bag today, but enjoyed it overall. COD 12a and 11d. Took me ages to realise 26a was an anagram of Transience - I was convinced that that was the definition! I also missed the rhyming pair. Couldn't have got 13d without help from the forum. Likewise, 19d.

I'm clearly being very dense, because despite the tips on here, I still can't get 22d. Is the single letter for France F, or something else? If it is, then the only word I can think of if fake, which I can't parse! My original answer (lies) is also un-parsable!

What am I missing? 5d I have S*I*P*R. If the 1st word is the definition then the solution is obvious but I cannot see why.
I have come across something similar to 13d before. It was a write in for me. The only crosswords I do are in Guardian & Observer. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this.

Try inserting an F as second letter

Very early start for me today and nearly completed except 6ac and 22d. Which i thought was lies. Just also like to say thanks for all the help for yesterday's prize which I finished this morning.

Hi everyone. I found this one fairly straight forward, just struggled with the parsing on a few clues - 13 & 19d - thanks to those who provided explanations here.
FOI 2, LOI 4, COD 23 (just cos it made me laugh).
