I’m not sure there’s too much cryptic going on there. A title is a publication, such as a paper, and if you acquire something you bag it , eg bagging a pair at cricket. Not sure there’s anything else

Continuing with old Araucaria...

Definition is “more or less”. A Circassian circle is in Chambers as a progressive dance in reel time, dome by couples. So it’s half of Circassian

Here's a much longer Araucaria then.
Slip is one that's left off the front page, one held by librarian (11,3,3)
As it's a themed answer it's MISSISSIPPI MUD PIE, but apart from MISS for slip and maybe left off giving the L coming out of SLIP and front page giving PI, the one held by librarian goes over my head.

Ok, so I think it's "Slip is" (MISS IS) + "one that's left off" (SIP) i.e. another slip minus the L for left + "the front page" (PI) +"one held by librarian" MUD P IE i.e. another P for page in Mudie. Charles Edward Mudie was the founder of Mudie's Lending Library.

That's it!!! I looked up Mudie as I'd never heard of him - as the son of a second-hand book dealer you'd have thought his name may have come up in my experiences over the years!

I'd never heard of him either, I'm ashamed to say. I had to google Mude and Mudie and struck lucky!

Still with the mighty Araucaria then, now a short.
With the majority inside a doss-house (4) -E-D so DEAD, as they are the majority, but is there anything here other than the association of doss-house with deadbeat, do you think?
