Having said that, can someone help me parse 15a? And what’s the large area in 31a?

I meant 13a not 15a, but anyway just found crates’ explanation earlier in this thread that makes it clear! Still a bit puzzled quite how 31a links up...

I mean the gem with small territory in a large area. I can’t spot any mention of it in the thread: whose comment should I look for and when?

Mooncow, the 'large area' is the four-letter word surrounding the 'small territory' (three letters).

D’oh, I got fixated on trying to include S=small (and TER=territory). Once I let go of that it’s obvious! Thanks.
