I am truly struggling to finish this. I have a full grid, with all answers that seem to fit the clue, but there are several that I have not got a clue how to work out. I also have the subjects surname, and the names of his two partners. However, as I haven't a clue to which the 7 treated clues are, and if some of them are the ones I think they are, I cannot arrange the initial letters to form either of the partners. As for the thematic work, I know what it is, and I know where it is. How I form it is a complete mystery to me, as the transformation has to include full words according to my googling info. Apart from all that, I'm reasonably happy with what I have so far!!!

I'm at a similar stage, Gitto. The 7 letter name from the treated clues is a woman's surname, if that helps.
I can only see the 13 letters to be highlighted as the original title of a musical work, as the English one only has 11 letters. This might be a red herring, as I can't find a way of making it fit using the literary technique mentioned.
Grid staring again !

I think the treated clues are 23a, 25a, 34a, 4d, 8d, 14d and 26d. I'm stuck at the treatment of the columns and rows, despite having a strong contender for name of the work.

I have nearly all the letters of the surname of his first partner - helped greatly by using the first letters of the answer, rather than the bloody clue. It always helps to read the preamble properly!! Surely the musical work is 3,5,5?

I was thinking 9,4, not in English.

I was thinking 9 4 , as Throck was. What is your 3 5 5 , Gitto?

Why have you chosen this album? I can't see a connection.

I thought I had completely lost the plot for a moment - you can see most of the title in the NE quadrant.
