Is it 14a or 14d? I cannot resolve either properly.

You are right; it is 14d. However, I am still having problems understanding the wordplay in 14a, 15a, 16a, 37a, 24d. Nor can I obtain the reassembled clues for 23a or 25a. And if the reference to a musical work is a rock album I am going to be completely out of my comfort zone.

However, there is plenty of time to think about this.

If you had read Patrick O'Brian you would have come across this. In one of the novels (I forget which) Maturin declares that 'I am an urinator' and you think, at first, so what?

Why is it that, when you respond to a particular post in this app, the reference is not there when your post appears at the end of the list of posts? And why is the list backwards?

I now have 15a, 16a, 37a - I had no idea about the board game!

14a is OK. Just 24d to go.

24d resolved. Sorry about this stream of consciousness ramble. Will now get down to making real progress.

Now finished. The instructions are unambiguous and the way that new words appear is very clever. I had not heard of the musical work, although I should really have done a bit more research, but it is fairly clear in the final grid. An excellent hard puzzle.

I've purposefully not read any of the preceding posts in case there are spoilers so apologies if this has been asked and answered earlier. I have a completed grid apart from 14d for which I have LI?L?AS. The final ? is because I'm not sure which spelling of 25 I need.

I can't find any word to fit 14d so could someone please let me know if I've made a mistake with one (or more) of the crossers please? No explicit answers thank you.
