Sunray - in 40d 'take' means R. It's an abbreviation of the Latin word recipe, meaning 'take'.
So you have B for bishop . . . .

Sunray, my ignored letters make no sense. The across ones are B, R, A. The down omissions are T, D, N, N, I, E, L, R, R, S, E and N. I can’t parse 14a, 28a or 46/47a so there may be another letter in one of them

Nelson, I too have those three groups. Why do you think 21d is involved in the fourth group?

11d. Think of two sides. then put a letter between them (gag, without the 'goods'.) You then have the singular form of minor Roman deities.

Bunty, I think your O from 15a might be wrong - see my parsing somewhere above.
For parsing of 41d I have: A DA (nearly 'a day') + R = end of year.
