Gives a Shakespearean word for the end of a ship where the helm is.

A word meaning 'relating to a grandparent' entered backwards + the usual abbreviation for 'name' + final letter of Truffaut.
Gives a French actor.

I have the grid almost filled and half the 16 words, four of which I can group together. But I have feeling there's still a long way to go.

Similar to you with almost complete grid fill 9 (possibly 11) of the 16 words ...one group of 4 ( i suspect the easiest group ...the 4 letter ones!)

Quite a few i can't parse so they too could have an extra letter.....back to the grindstone!

I think I now have 3 of the groups - and most of the letters, which don't make any sense yet.

Help with two for now:
