Maybe you mean Alistair Cooke's letter from America. What a gentleman and such a lovely voice too

Hello, Elle,
No, I am quite happy with "nosey".
There is something about Firefox that I can't quite explain.
Google Chrome "feels" better.
Just a personal preference. I have Opera, too..
I am away to buy lightbulbs.
Which to purchase?
They are another of life's mysteries, but I am sure the ASDA girls will keep me right!

Are you perhaps thinking of Alistair Cooke's Letter from America - BBC Radio 4? that was, I think, a weekly broadcast?
I think Thought for the Day is done by someone different each day?

Exact Elle, I got confused.
I really enjoyed Alistair Cooke's Letter from Amerca.

Jazzy, what sort of book did you write? (If I am not being nosey...)

Doglet, I am not sure.
I have an idea they have been "outlawed" by some regulation or other.
May be available on online?
The modern ones do not seem to be as bright, I agree.

I bought a whole load of 'old' light bulb online a few years ago, for the very reason that they give a better light!
We are still working our way through them. I doubt though that such will still be available?
I'll look to see if I can find the reference, tho, Doglet

My local general store still sells the old light bulbs.
I have two 5-bulb light fittings in the lounge with clear candle-bulbs. I think the pearl ones have been banned.

A rather unpleasant subject, I fear, but....I seem to remember Alistair Cooke's body was illegally cut up and his bones stolen for some dodgy medical procedures.
I am not sure if the culprits were caught or not.
