Jazzy, re security etc......I've had a flashback.......I was lying in bed last night thinking about computer security - you know, as one does....! - and I'm afraid that you yourself are partially responsible for descriptions of people going out online ( I know of course that this wasn't intentional)....do you remember saying that you thought it was fun to imagine how people looked?
And you went on to give images?
Rusty was quick to deny that he was 5' 6", promptly offering his real height, plus other comments.
I denied being tall as you'd thought and told you my height, and probably weight! And so on..... a number of people came forward with their own personal comments/ details.
I remember at some stage we learned that Ginge had no hair (sorry, Ginge!)
It just goes to show how easily and innocently this is done!

Guilty as charged Elle. Yes I also have let slip quite a lot of info about myself too and that was years ago. Too late now, but I feel sure no one could make too much of it. Everyone on the forum now sounds really genuine but we shall take care and remember it all ends up in google.
Don't over-worry. It was not me who sent the email to Norah by the way.

I wasn't finger- pointing, Jazzy, far from it - and, after all, not one of us needed to respond to what was only your bit of fun, by offering personal details, but a lot of us did!
I only wanted to illustrate just how easy it is to ask for/ get / be offered/ personal info.
As you say, hopefully no harm done (apart from what happened to you previously) and we can all learn from it.

I can't really say how the person involved in my case happened to find out what they did, but needless to say they were very persistent and I learnt a lesson the hard way. It was not burgled by the way)
I am off now to help with some gardening. :)

Hi elle, I do feel you're fretting needlessly. While I'm not intending to belittle the warnings I'm pretty sure a crossword forum site wouldn't be where ne'er-do-wells would trawl for potential victims although you're right from now on to consider what you divulge.
Time for the smelling salts jazzy, i can prove, if required, I'm not totally devoid of hair. Just extremely sparse on the top of my napper ! My forearms obviously ! :-)

Hello, Elle!
Yes, Calum was a real "man"! I am looking forward to reading it again.
Funny thing, I have a double CD of Pete Seeger and "Little Boxes" is not on it!
But, one of my all-time favourites is...
"Goodnight Irene".
And now Irene is my new earworm!
It is not in my Chambers, but, apparently, Goodnight Irene is a synonym for disaster?

Good afternoon, Pigale!
I hope Voeckler goes well in the Tour.
We need another French winner!
Another Laurent Fignon, perhaps!
I was a fan of Laurent.
Voeckler has been with Europcar for a long time now.
He is easy to spot in the peloton with his bright green jersey!
Maybe he will change it to Yellow!
