Yes, Letter from America was, I believe, the longest running speech radio programme on BBC4. it ran from March 1946 till February 2004!

Re your query abut Welling. It IS in Kent, with a DA post code, but is also in the London Borough of Bexley.
This happens a lot with borderline locations.
Beckenham for instance IS also in Kent but is in the London borough of Bromley.

catching up on this 'electrical' exchange, I must say that I don't like the new simple new bulbs BUT I do like the SPOT-like LED, i fitted some on table lamps and they really throw light and no heat. Went for powerful ones though.

I am going to keep buying the old ones as long as possible. It has become a complicated process nowadays.
