Morning Elle,

No rain here, in fact no rain forecast for quite a while, unless there a change. Some showers just north to north/east of us though.

The cherries are not so much being picked but rather eaten in situ ! nothing better than having dessert on the tree!
Some serious picking due to take place to-morrow though as another tree is now perfectly ready for it.

I have just given the two little kittens their first tiny portion of real food - as opposed to just their mother's milk. They seem to have really enjoyed it! but my goodness they are funny !

Morning / well, nearly afternoon, Rusty!
My morning has disappeared in having coffee with a neighbour! I even had a bacon roll, too!! Not as sumptuous as yours sound, though! (I only had two rashers on mine!)
My daughter texted late last night to say that she had arrived safely in Berlin. This is the first time that she has left her young son for so long (it will be three nights). Dad is in charge!
Have you picked out any further books to order from Amazon?
I still have some money outstanding from my last gift card - maybe I will get another book by Lyn MacD - getting hooked!)
As you say, this 1p lark is a good deal!

What colour kittens, Pigale? and are you keeping them both? or do you have to find homes for them?
We only have one cat and one dog, and one goldfish now !
We used to have four cats, one dog, two rabbits, two guinea pigs, one hamster, numerous gerbils, and the same goldfish (he's 25 years old!) all at the same time!

Yes, I will keep them both, and I might also keep the mother if she wants to stay - I explain :

Fairly late one evening about five to six weeks ago, I suddenly saw a cat in the house. Now I had seen that prettty thing before and had given her food and milk, as I do to 2 other cats from the neibourhood !

Well, that evening I realized she seemed interested in an upstair room (half mezzanine half loft), so I went up with her on my heels - and there, I discovered..... two tiny kittens on an old piece of rug ; they can't have been more than three of four days old.

Since I always leave food in the kitchen for whoever needs it (I mean cats of course! they come in through my bedroom window which is always opened at night), Mummy puss must have had most of that food, and kept well out of the way in the daytime.

We are now a happy family! She trusts me entirely, I bring her some food up regularly and in fact I spend a lot of time up there playing with the kittens who are getting very lively indeed!

The little female (Missy) is a zebra-like mixture of grey and white, the young male (Fluffy) is pale grey with bits of white on paws and his coat is indeed quite fluffy - hence the name.

I shall have them 'doctored' when they are 6 months to avoid to many kittens around - not good between brother and sister!

That's the story!

Thank goodness they found you it sounds as if they will be well looked after,we have only 3 cats now all strays 2 who took up residence in one of the garages then moved into the house and 1 little feral kitten who I rescued whilst walking the dogs she is now 20 and still as wild as ever. We arrived here with 10!.This is the fewest number we have ever had but I am sure another will turn up needing a home

We have just had fun. The downpipe that feeds the water butt by the garage was thoroughly blocked, so we partly disassembled it and started poking about. Success was achieved as I poked a cane down from the top. Unfortunately at this point my wife was poking something up from the bottom, and was completely soaked by the junior waterfall that came out.

She's showering now, while I'm making a nice cup of tea.

Oh la la ! that must have been a shock ! I hope the water was not too cold, or too dirty ! Are you sure you 'both' had fun?

Not too cold, but not very clean.

She didn't shout at me, anyway!
