Hello, Elle,
The Diamond League does not come across like that on Eurosport.
Must be the way BBC edit it?
They tend to concentrate on the British athletes, whereas Eurosport concentrate on the event.
Yes, I saw your message about Jess, but I am engrossed in golf and cycling. I find watching television tiring, so I shall give Jess a miss until Rio!
Caster is a smashing runner.
I look forward to seeing her in Rio, if she is going.
My son has had to drive several miles to send me a text message.
He is up in Glen Clova. No phone signal where he is!

Hi, Rusty!
But on Eurosport, you are shown the Athletic events in their entirety, are you not?
The programme probably lasts a few hours?
Whereas all the BBC has been producing is the absolute minimum of Highlights - the total transmission time is only one hour.
It's chopped down to the barest bones, with ridiculous overlapping.
A very poor quality programme.
I'm glad that you had a look at the sphinxes!
A most professional renovation job...but I prefer them unpainted - even though they have now been restored to their original colour!
Where is Glen Cova?
Is your son on holiday?
It is good that he will drive such a long way to send you a text!

Hello, Elle!
This Glen Clova thing is News to me.
He was here on Thursday and did not let on!
The glen is one of the Angus Glens a few miles North of me.
A nice part of the World.
He is staying in a lodge.
Normally on a Saturday he goes salmon fishing on the Tay or Esk.
So, I was a bit surprised to hear about Clova!
I think his wife and him are only there for the weekend.
He works for himself, so takes time off when it suits him and customers.
Yes, Eurosport cover all the meeting.
BBC seem to be paring it to the bone, it seems, and that is affecting your enjoyment. Not so good!
BBC has cut its sports coverage quite a bit.

Hi, Rusty!
It is nice that your son and his wife are able to be spontaneous!
Will they be walking/hiking? Glen Clova must be beautiful countryside?
I took the dog out for a while - I needed to walk off my frustration at the BBC!!!!
Their sports coverage for Athletics is abysmal!
Then I watched the latter stages of the tennis match of GB against Serbia.
Jamie Murray and Dominic Inglot beat Nenad Zimonjic/ Filip Kajinovic in 3 sets to 1.
What sort of a day have you had?
How have the golf and cycling gone?

Good evening, Elle!
Yes, they just took off!
Do not know whenst they shall return.
I wonder who is in charge of me until then?
My day started early but has gone quite well.
I only watched a little of the cycling.
Stayed with the golf, which I like.
That is a pity the BBC are guilty of falling standards, Elle.
They should be condemned to the Pribilofs!

Hi Elle/Rusty,

Cavendish won another stage - Marcel Kittel did not seem happy but personally I think he had stopped his effort before Cavendish overtook him - did you see it? what do you think?

Tomorrow should be one huge stage ! I am looking forward to it.
Elle, you might want to watch some of it - the scenery should be great.

Three chicks in the nest at present.

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, I had forgotten about the Pribilofs!
Yes, an ideal fate for the BBC!!
I too have been having phone calls!
Younger daughter rang to tell me all about their trip to Longleat Safari Park.
She said that she was so glad that they went on the Safari bus as advised, as it was quite right about the monkeys taking bits off cars!
(From the vantage point of the Safari bus, she was able to smile and find it funny!)
And elder daughter phoned to arrange when she and the boys - and the new puppy! - should come to stay!
(I did tell you about the puppy?)
I am very busy over the next couple of weeks, but was able to assure her that we are free during August and they could come anytime then!
I am now frantically trying to remember how long it took me to housetrain our dogs!!

Hello, Pigale!
I wondered what you were up to today!
It has been very warm and muggy here
I thought for a short while that we would have a thunderstorm ,but it blew over, and the evening has been lovely.
Yes, I do like to look at the scenery.
I will see how we go tomorrow - we have one more day of looking after the cat, so have to drive over to Welling.

Good evening, Pigale!
I do not think there was anything wrong with Cavendish's sprint.
Looked fair to me.
Cav was just too fast and crafty for Marcel.
Tomorrow, Pigale, they are on the Lacets du Grand Colombier!
I am very excited just thinking about it.
I would say the Lacets is my favourite piece of road anywhere!
Very spectacular!
I think Lassie and Laddie have done a great job with the chicks.
I do not think the male has fledged yet, though.
A bit behind his sisters.
